Adele Plans To Release Third Album Next May
Following the success of her sophomore album 21, Adele has revealed that she is already looking ahead to her third record.
In an interview with The Sun, the Rolling In The Deep hitmaker claimed that she plans to release her forthcoming LP next May, and that the album will feature a cover of the INXS track, Never Tear Us Apart.
Speaking of her new album, the 23-year old confessed: "I have five tracks ready to go. One of them is quite upbeat - a real 'girl power' type of song."
The songstress continued: "I plan to do a cover of the INXS hit 'Never Tear Us Apart' which is probably my fave song of all time. The whole album will have quite a live feel to it."

How Many Millions Did Amazon Lose on Two Days of 99 Cent Lady Gaga Sales?
Christmas came early for Lady Gaga fans this week, as Amazon sold downloads of the singer's brand-new LP, "Born This Way," for just 99 cents on Monday and Thursday of this week.
Industry sources told Billboard.biz on Friday that Amazon sold some 440,000 downloads of the album - nearly all of which were the 99-cent version (a more expensive deluxe version is also available).
So how much is Amazon losing? About $3.2 million over the two days the promotion ran, according to Billboard's estimate.
Adam Lambert Making His 'Dream Album'
Adam Lambert's debut album, 2009's For Your Entertainment, was very much a product of his time on "American Idol" — written and produced by a hand-picked team of hitmakers, it was the kind of the thing the folks at 19 Entertainment wanted to hear. So it's somewhat understandable that, on his follow-up disc, Lambert is very much determined to make the kind of album he wants to hear.
"I think I've probably written about 18 to 20 songs. I've been spending the past two and a half months in the studio," Lambert told MTV News on the red carpet of Wednesday's "Idol" finale in Los Angeles. "I'm writing most of the material with people myself this time ... I'm really involved. It's really exciting because I think I'm making my dream album. I know that sounds a bit clichéd, but I'm making exactly what I want to listen to."
That echoes the sentiments Lambert shared with us earlier this year, when he said he was taking his time to work on his new album, and that the goal was to "write the most personal songs, the most powerful songs. I really want it to be something that's really honest and real."
Helping him achieve that goal are a variety of seasoned pros — Ryan Tedder, Nikka Costa and Sia, to name just a few — and while there's still no release date for the album, Lambert said he's in no rush. He's enjoying the writing process, and getting an education in songwriting in the process.
"I'm learning so much from everybody, so that's probably the best part," he said.

Lady Gaga poised to sail past 1 million on Billboard 200 next week
She worked hard for every single copy sold, but it looks like Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” will join the rarified club of artists whose album sells more than 1 million copies in its opening week.
Original predictions were that “Born This Way” would move around 800,000 copies, but that was before Amazon sold it for 99 cents for two days. The promotion, as troubled as it was by some downloading problems, will help send the album over the 1.15 million mark, predicts Billboard. The last artist to surpass the mark was Taylor Swift with "Speak Now" last fall.
Brad Paisley’s “This Is Country Music” comes in at second place on the Billboard 200 with sales of around 155,000, meaning Adele’s “21” slips to third place, but still tops the 100,000 mark.
In addition to Lady Gaga and Paisley’s sets, five other titles bow in the top 10: “Glee Cast: Vol. 6” flies in at No. 4 with sales of around 80,000; Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made, Vol. 1,” a collection of artists on Mayback, debuts at No. 6. The co-joined New Kids on the Block and Back Street Boys combo comes in at No. 7, as NKOTBSB's self-titled setis poised to sell around 40,000.
Journey and Walmart prove the strength of both brands as “Eclipse” starts at No. 8, despite being available only at the mass marketer. Up-and-coming Los Angeles band Foster the People benefits from a long, well-developed set-up by Columbia Records as “Torches” begins its chart life at No. 9 with sales of 30,000. Mumford & Sons’ “Sigh No More” hangs in there at No. 10, moving around 30,000 copies.

Paris Hilton Working On House Album
Paris Hilton, who’s new tv show The World According to Paris will debut on Wednesday (June 1), recently revealed that she is working on a new house album.
Speaking with reporters, Paris said, “I have a recording studio in my house so any time I have free time I’m writing and working [on new music]. I’ve been working on this album for a really long time because I want it to be perfect. I recently changed the direction of the album. It was more pop before but now I’m getting rid of a lot of songs and going into a different direction with house music, so it will be a lot more dance and club.”
Her last album, Paris, was released in 2006. The album peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard 200. Will anyone care about this new album? I am sure there are a few people that will buy it.

Nicki Minaj To Embark On "Pink Friday" Tour In 2012
After being an integral part in tours by Lil Wayne and Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj has revealed that she plans to embark on her own tour in 2012.
"I’m sure there are so many things I’m going to learn just by watching her," said Nicki of her time touring with Britney Spears in an interview with Usmagazine.com. "Next year, I’ll be headlining my own tour so this is my time to be a student and to learn and to absorb all of this information and then take that knowledge and create an amazing Pink Friday tour at the top of 2012."
"I’m honored to be out with Britney," said Minaj. "She’s freakin’ paved the way for pop culture. I’m excited. We are in talks to hit the stage together but that is up to her. I would love to of course. If we do something on tour, it will probably be the ['Till the World Ends'] remix."

Musician Coalition Continues to Protest Grammy Category Changes
Nekesa Mumbi Moody of the Associated Press is reporting that a coalition of musicians is demanding that the Recording Academy restore more than 30 categories cut from the Grammy Awards, alleging that the reductions unfairly target ethnic music and were done without the input of its thousands of members. A protest was planned Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif., at an academy board meeting.
It is part of a campaign by those upset by last month's decision to reduce the Grammy fields, which this year totaled 109, to 78. The academy announced the changes April 6; the move came after a more-than-yearlong examination of the awards structure, the first in the Grammys' 50-plus-year history.
Grammy President and CEO Neil Portnow said at the time that the changes would make the Grammys more competitive, and the awards more coveted. He also said that the changes would be in effect for the 2012 Grammys. He urged dissenters to work with the academy, which would examine the effect of the changes for the 2013 awards. Protesters are calling for Portnow's resignation after he said that the changes were set in stone, when in fact there is an opportunity for the changes to be reversed.

The seventh annual Afro-Punk Festival will take place at Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn at the end of August (the 27th and 28th, to be precise), and the just-announced lineup looks pretty incredible: Cee Lo Green will headline, and the once-again-active Santigold, the always-spellbinding Janelle Monáe, the Yes In My Backyard alums Cerebral Ballzy, and the shape-shifting Philadelphia soul singer Res will also be on the bill. As will Fishbone! There'll also be food from more than 20 trucks courtesy of the Afro-Punk Bites&Beats Food Truck Festival, and a BMX competition. The lineup as of now is after the jump; the full schedule will be released closer to showtime.Christina Aguilera Planning Music Comeback
Despite the critical and commercial failure of Christina Aguilera's 2010 effort, Bionic, RumorFix has learned exclusively that the singer is already heading back to the studio.
Over the weekend, one of our photographers caught up with producer Scott Storch who broke the news. "I'm focusing my energy on Christina Aguilera right now. We did an album once before and it did very well. It's time to do it again!"
Storch who produced Aguilera's hit song, "Fighter," also had something to say about critics who've been panning Aguilera's recent weight gain. "I think she's look gorgeous. I like my girls a little thick. Who wants a little anorexic, bulemic girl?"
No word on when the project is expected to drop, but hopefully Storch can help Aguilera find her signature sound and revive her music career.

Britney Spears Films ‘I Wanna Go’ Music Video
Britney Spears is currently shooting her third single, “I Wanna Go,” in LA today and tomorrow — but HollywoodLife.com has all the details about her latest project! The video, directed by Chris Marrs Piliero, will feature hardly any choreography, “It’s very personality and action driven,” our source said. Rather than play up the sexuality of the song, the piece will showcase Britney’s sense of humor in a playful way. According to our source, “It’s not really indicative of the song at all.”
The video will open with a mock press conference, and the paparazzi will ask Britney inappropriate questions. The singer curses them out and storms off, before later discovering that they’re all robots. “It seems like Britney is hung up on the press, which is ironic because for the most part they seem to be leaving her alone,” our source continued.
Britney will play out fantasies in her head, which include making out with a fan, flashing a cop, and getting frisky with a hot star! Although we’re not quite sure who her main man will be, our source tells us they’ve already reached out to Matthew McConaughey and Kellan Lutz.
The handsome actor will show up and save Britney from the paparazzi, before they hook up in the backseat of a car, where she discovers he’s a robot too!
The video ends back at the press conference, where you discover that Britney was just daydreaming. She then walks off with the actor, who turns around and smiles at the camera, his eyes glaring just like those of the robot paparazzi.
Britney is going to definitely look sexy, but in an edgy way — expect to see the star in combat boots, and a studded, punk-rock get-up at the press conference.

Dawn Richard Announces Solo Plans
After years of remaining in the shadows, Dawn Richard’s moment has arrived. The Dirty Money singer-songwriter is ready to fly solo with her first album. She exclusively revealed the title to Rap-Up TV and gave us a first listen to a couple tracks, including the whimsical intro “Hollywood Story” (Rob Holliday) and “Running from Sane” (D’Mile), the latter of which was inspired by Phil Collins and Meat Loaf.
The former Danity Kane member explained that the conceptual project, due on Bad Boy, will be a trilogy with the first release GoldenHeart coming in late 2011/early 2012 with BlackHeart and RedemptionHeart to follow.
Her fans (or “Hearts” as she calls them) got a taste of what’s to come with her previously released mixtape A Tell Tale Heart, but she’s excited to share her complete vision with them.
“The last six years have been a battle for people to understand and conform me into what they really want me to be and I’ve kind of had to protect that throughout this whole journey,” said the New Orleans native. “It’s kind of the story of me protecting this golden heart, which really kind of symbolizes my own heart and my passion for this music thing and really who I am.”
After appearing in two successful groups, it’s time for Dawn’s voice to be heard. “It’s so exciting for me right now. I’m coming into my own. I’m deciding to say I really don’t care if you think I’m not pretty enough or sexy enough or you don’t think the sound is dope enough. I’m really falling in love with who I am and falling in love with the concept of what I’m choosing to do.”

Silverchair splits up
Official statement:
We formed Silverchair nearly 20 years ago when we were just 12 years old. Today we stand by the same rules now as we did back then ... if the band stops being fun and if it's no longer fulfilling creatively, then we need to stop.
Therefore after much soul searching we wanted to let you know that we're putting Silverchair into "indefinite hibernation" and we've decided to each do our own thing for the foreseeable future.
We assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly. In fact we've been struggling with it for quite a while now.

Wiz Khalifa Aiming for Nicki Minaj Collaboration
Ever wondered how Wiz Khalifa and Nicki Minaj would sound on a track together? If Wiz has his way, this could soon be a reality.
In an exclusive interview with MTV UK during a break in performances across the pond, the Pittsburgh rhyme slinger has made it clear that he’s a fan of Young Money starlet Nicki Minaj, saying he “absolutely” hopes to work alongside the diva on a collaborative effort in the near feature. The “Black and Yellow” star also heaped high amounts of praise upon the Queens rapper.
“She’s awesome. She’s a hard worker, she makes really good music and she’s really diverse which is important – not only in hip-hop but just in music in general,” gushed Wiz. He continued with, “You gotta be able to switch it up and you gotta be able to still be you and that’s what she’s able to do. I really respect that about her.” When asked by MTV UK what type of tunes would the pair tackle, Wiz gave an, ahem, hazy answer but stayed true to his typically cool image.
“Whatever we feel like that day. I like to be open when it comes to music," said the Rolling Papers MC. “When I get in the studio, I don’t really have anything in mind, I just hear stuff and then we make it happen from there,” Wiz added.

Paltrow's talks for a record deal with Atlantic Records has recently gone kaput, according to reports. Did the execs accidentally see Country Strong?
The Oscar winner was close to a deal in March with Atlantic Records, after her Glee cover of Cee Lo Green's F*** You! was a huge hit on iTunes.
A source revealed to Page Six: "Atlantic bosses were very interested, and [Atlantic owner] Warner chief Lyor Cohen was very supportive. But then the talks halted and the deal fizzled out. There was a rumor that Paltrow wanted $1 million to sign, but that is a ridiculous figure. Atlantic is still interested in signing her."
Paltrow's rep said in a statement: "Atlantic was not the only company pursuing her, and she still has not decided if she wants to record an album. It is still something she is considering."

JC Chasez: I feel like my singing days are behind me
J.C. Chasez has worn a lot of hats throughout his 15 year career -- pop superstar, actor, reality show judge, producer ... and that doesn't even begin to cover the terrible toppers J.C. literally donned during his N'Sync days. Now he's slipping the songwriter hat back on to help out with Matthew Morrison's debut CD.
Turns out the gig wasn't that hard to come by since J.C. and Matthew are good friends -- but what started out as casually advice evolved into J.C. taking on a much more official role as he co-wrote two of the disc's ten tracks.
In addition to that, J.C. also has the season finale of "America's Best Dance Crew" approaching -- an episode that promises to be the most competitive yet. Or at least that's the impression I got while chatting with the multi-hyphenate ... who plans to remove one of those professional hats from his career closet for good.

Skylar Grey Shares Album Details, Surprise Collaboration
Skylar Grey has helped Eminem and Rihanna, Diddy-Dirty Money, and Dr. Dre score chart-topping hits, and now she’s applying the magic to herself. One of this year’s breakthrough talents, the singer-songwriter described what we can expect from her Wonderland Music/Interscope Records debut, which was executive produced by hitmaker Alex Da Kid.
A buzz single will be released “within the next couple of weeks” followed by the album in the fall. “I’m going to put out a buzz single first and then do the official single in June and the album in the fall,” the Grammy nominee told Rap-Up TV at the BMI Pop Music Awards.
“Sonically I can tell you that every song sounds different and it’s really diverse, kind of going from cinematic to fun to dark. Alex and I really push each other creatively, which I think is good. Sometimes it’s painful and I get stubborn and he gets stubborn, but that’s what makes the music so great.”
While she may be known for her big name collabos, she’s keeping the features to a minimum on her album. “Right now I only have one feature on my album, but it’s somebody you would never expect.”

It's been three years - filled of allegations and adversaries - since Nas delivered a solo album, and although reaching the No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, something about Nas' ninth solo album, 'Nas' (2008), still doesn't sit right with him, "I can look back at my last record and I know that some songs didn't belong there. I really over thought it. There was a lot going on," Nas says of self titled album, originally to be titled the "N" word.

Cee Lo Green Confirms Collaboration with Christina Aguilera
American singer and producer Cee Lo Green has confirmed rumours of a collaboration with Christina Aguilera, admitting the track has already been recorded.
The pair are both judges on hit US talent show ‘The Voice’, and had worked together previously to perform Cee Lo’s Gnarls Barkley hit ‘Crazy’ alongside the other judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, but the two now have a proper single together.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, Green revealed: "Christina’s just like the best to me. We did a song together, a few years ago. It actually was supposed to make the Burlesque soundtrack, but it didn’t make it. I’ve been seeing people tweeting about it lately, so I guess they’re going to release it."
Details of the single have not been released yet and it is not clear whether or when the single will be released or put up for download, but you can’t imagine any label would hold back an effort by two megastar musicians.
In another collaboration, Cee Lo is set to perform a whole load of dates with diva Rihanna across American and Canada. You can see dates for this tour below.
In other news, Cee Lo re-recorded his hit ‘Forget You’, which hit number one, in honour of US fire-fighters. Renamed ‘Thank You’, the track is available for free download here.

"I'm planning on launching a new tour by the end of this year, if not, the beginning of next."
The 25-year-old performer dismissed the idea of scaling down the eccentric qualities of her stage shows, saying that she wants to liberate fans who see her concerts.
"I'll never do a smaller show. It's got to be bigger, bigger, more epic, more of an opus. I don't care where I am in the world, theatrics are part of who I am. I don't do it big for the sake of it.
"It will always be more me and more of an extension of what I've created. I always want the crowd to feel more liberated than when they first walked in."
GaGa released the second promotional single 'Hair' last night, to mark the countdown to her album release next week.

Ringo Starr European tour gets ready to launch with a few new added dates Continue reading on Examiner.com: Ringo Starr European tour gets ready to launch with a few new added dates
Three more shows, two new and one with a date change, are the latest and probably last additions to Ringo Starr's summer All-Starr Band tour schedule that kick offs June 4 in Kiev.
The two new shows are July 14 at Salzburg, Austria and July 17 at Vienna, Austria, which will end the tour. The date for a show originally scheduled for July 6 in Frankfurt, Germany, is now July 16.
The tour now comprises 28 shows and it's likely there won't be any more additions, according to Ringo's publicist. Ringo's All-Starr Band is the same group that tour the U.S. last year: Edgar Winter, Rick Derringer, Wally Palmar, Gary Wright, Richard Page and Gregg Bissonette.
Here's the updated tour schedule:

Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album
Ke$ha's already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to guzzling blood out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most theatrical era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s.
Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KISS FM's annual Wango Tango concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout Animal album (and, we suppose, Cannibal too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much everything else.
"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it."
So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc.
"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it."

Rihanna Director Talks Upcoming 'Man Down' Video
Rihanna has teamed up once again with director Anthony Mandler for the singer's forthcoming "Man Down" video. Having just released their sun-drenched, dreamy clip for "California King Bed," the duo will shift gears for this video.
"We've done 16 videos together; they're not all tough," Mandler said when asked about what fans can expect from the new clip. " 'If I Never See Your Face Again,' 'Hate That I Love You,' 'Take a Bow'... Yeah, I mean, I'm known for the 'Disturbia's and the 'Russian Roulette's and things like that, but 'Only Girl (In the World)' is certainly an ethereal kind of empowering, beauty-filled video and what we're coming with next ... is certainly gonna flip people's minds with 'Man Down.' "
Mandler didn't give too much away, but he did reveal that this clip will have her fans talking once it does premiere. "We shot the video last month in Jamaica and it's my favorite song she's ever recorded, so I was really excited to get involved," he said. "And it's just one of those songs that demands a strong narrative and visual, and let's just say she let me go all the way. So I think you can expect something that's dramatic and shocking and intense and emotional and uplifting and enlightening."
The reggae-tinged tune tells the story of a young woman who guns down a man and is seeking some forgiveness for her actions. So, will Rihanna wield a firearm in the clip? "Without saying too much, if you're looking for a narrative you're not going to be disappointed," Mandler shared. "Just know that it's going to be exciting."
