Selena Gomez to co-host and perform at the 2011 MMVAs
After we received word that Lady Gaga would be performing at the 2011 MMVAs via a note stuck to an alien carrier pigeon, which arrived from Planet Monster in an egg-shaped capsule*, we knew that we couldn’t have just anybody hosting a show that GAGA would be playing. We put on our thinking caps (it’s probably more of a bonnet) and thought of the one person that we knew could handle hosting a crowd of millions, while remaining totally amazing and looking fab under pressure. They had to be talented, smart, likable and all around have a good helping of awesome-sauce.
Like being hit by a lightning bolt (ouch!) we knew who this person was – the one and only Ms. Selena Gomez! Singer, actress, spokesperson, role model and the girl that we all want to hang out with, Selena is not only co-hosting, but also PERFORMING at the 2011 MMVAs!
Not to toot our own horn, but we are pretty good at bringing you the most gigantasaurous night in music each year, and 2011 will be no different (toot toot). Following in the footsteps of the amazeballs Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, Selena will be shutting down Queen and John in downtown Toronto at the MuchMusic headquarters on Sunday, June 19!
Sure to be bringing some of her magic from the Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena will be hitting the stage to keep you entertained throughout your fave awards show. Whether she’s werking beautiful ballgowns in the desert a la A Year Without Rain, cracking the case like a European spy in Round & Round, or being mistaken for a socialite in her upcoming feature film Monte Carlo, Gomez always brings glitz, glam and likability to all her roles and we can’t wait to see her on our brand new 2011 MMVA stage!
