Lollapalooza headliners to include Eminem, Muse, Foo Fighters

Eminem, Muse and Foo Fighters will be among the headliners for Lollapalooza when it returns Aug. 5-7 to Grant Park.

Reliable industry sources confirmed the bookings Tuesday. Lollapalooza promoters C3 Presents had no comment, but the Eminem booking is a coup. The hip-hop artist is expected to win his first album-of-the-year prize at next Sunday’s Grammy Awards for his latest album, “Recovery,” the best-selling album of 2010. The Foo Fighters — fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl — are returning with their seventh studio album in April, the band’s first set of new material in nearly four years. Muse will be playing a few festival shows while readying its next album this summer; the U.K. band scored its first major U.S. hit with its 2009 release, “The Resistance.”

Also expected to play Lollapalooza, according to several industry sources: Best Coast, Girl Talk, Crystal Castles and Lykke Li. At least three more headliners will join Eminem, Muse and Foo Fighters.

The complete Lollapalooza lineup is expected to be officially released in April.

Eminem's Next Single is "Space Bound"

Eminem had two of the biggest commercials during last night's Super Bowl XLV: The Claymation anti-ad clip for Brisk and the $9 million Motor City ad for the hot new Chrysler 200. Wondering what's next for Mr. Mathers? For those still bumping Recovery, Eminem has revealed that the next single from the multi-platinum selling album is the Jim Jonsin-produced, "Space Bound."

The Palm Beach, Florida producer told Rap-Up last year that he had assisted on a potential single for the album, but wasn't sure if it would actually become one. The guitar-laced ballad will now serve as the album's fourth single and follow-up to the Lil Wayne-featured, "No Love."

Beyoncé to headline Glastonbury 2011, gossip website claims

The last time she was at Glastonbury it was on the sidelines, watching her husband Jay-Z rip up the rule book as he won over a vast crowd of largely sceptical revellers, but it now looks like Beyoncé is to take centre stage at this summer's festival.

The queen of R&B looks likely to join U2 and Coldplay as headline acts at the 2011 instalment of the world's biggest festival, if rumours are to be believed.

U2 will headline the festival on the Friday evening, with Coldplay on Saturday and Beyoncé bringing festivities to a close on Sunday, according to the gossip website Holy Moly. Festival organisers would neither confirm nor deny the rumours.

Beyoncé's other, though certainly not better, half was a controversial choice in 2007, but a powerful set and a few well-aimed jibes at his detractor Noel Gallagher were well received by fans and critics.

U2 were due to play at Glastonbury's 40th anniversary last year before their lead singer, Bono, injured his back, and have made no secret that they want to play this year. At the time of the cancellation, the band said they were "heartbroken" and in October they posted a message on their website, which read: "Looking at the tour dates – there is a gap in the band's schedule ahead of the East Lansing show on June 26th, which would make the Friday night a possibility."

Later a note was posted advising U2 lovers to try to get their hands on tickets for the festival. A final none-too-subtle hint came in the guise of a new song, called "Glastonbury", which features the line: "There are some things you just can't control; sometimes you just can't let go."

Coldplay last played at the festival in 2005. But Beyoncé, a huge name in pop, is not an obvious fit with the sprawling festival behemoth. The organiser Michael Eavis has said his Sunday night headliner would be "an American artist that I've been wanting for yonks and yonks".

Eminem 'Doesn't Think He's Gonna Win' Grammy, Royce Da 5'9" Says

Every solo project by Eminem has been nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy, and the Detroit MC has taken home a trophy every time except for his album Encore. This year, Eminem earned a whopping 10 Grammy nominations and is likely to take home a few awards.

But according to Em's friend and recent Shady Records signee Royce da 5'9", the Recovery superstar doesn't think he's gonna win big on Sunday.

"It's funny, I just had the conversation with him about it," Royce told MTV News. "He doesn't think he's gonna win anything. He wouldn't bet me, though. But I think he honestly thinks he's not gonna win. Which I think is ridiculous."

The veteran rapper is not only up for Best Rap Album but Best Rap Song ("Not Afraid"), Record of the Year ("Love the Way You Lie") and the coveted Album of the Year for Recovery, among others.

Eminem is also scheduled perform at the Grammys on Sunday. Last year, he took the stage with Drake, Kanye West and Lil Wayne for the Thank Me Later star's "Forever" performance. But for this year's telecast, the multiple Grammy winner will take top billing.

Em's new Shady Records additions Slaughterhouse — Royce, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Joe Budden — will join their new label boss at the esteemed event. Em also recently inked upstart rapper Yelawolf to Shady Records.

Royce, who is working on his next solo LP, Success Is Certain, due in April, said he'll be cheering his longtime friend on.

"I think he's gonna win," Royce said. "We're rooting for him."
