Taylor Swift sets Hot 100 chart records

CorpsTaylor Swift‘s amazing week just keeps getting better. The latest edition of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart features an incredible 11 appearances from Swift, all songs from her new album, Speak Now. This is a record on three counts.

First: Swift is the only female artist to have that many songs on the Hot 100 at once. Her only competition, per Billboard, comes from David Cook, who also notched 11 charting singles right after he won American Idol in May 2008, and the Beatles, who had 12 songs on the Hot 100 for two weeks in April 1964 and 14 charting songs for another week in the same month.

Second: The Beatles’ charting singles came from multiple projects (Please Please Me, With the Beatles, and the soon-to-be-released A Hard Day’s Night). Cook’s were individually sold tunes that he had sung on Idol. This makes Swift the first artist ever to have this many simultaneously charting singles all drawn from a single album.

Third: Cook didn’t write his Idol songs, and the Beatles’ record-setting weeks included a number of covers like “Twist and Shout” and “Roll Over Beethoven.” Swift famously wrote all the songs on Speak Now by herself. So she’s also the only artist to have this many Hot 100 appearances all of which were written by the artist in question.

Shia LaBeouf to Direct Short Film for Kid Cudi’s MANIAC

With his sophomore effort Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager landing in stores next week, Kid Cudi is following in his mentor Kanye West’s footsteps by releasing a short film for album cut “MANIAC.”

Rapper Cage, who appears on the track with St. Vincent, reached out to his friend Shia LaBeouf to direct the clip, which he tweeted about earlier today. The Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps actor previously directed Cage’s video for “I Never Knew You.”

“Yes this is happening!” wrote Cage, while “Day ‘N’ Nite” producer Dot Da Genius tweeted “side project, we do what we want,” along with a picture of the rapper holding a folder for the treatment.

Cudder appeared with Cage and St. Vincent last night on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” backed by the legendary Roots crew.

Cheryl Cole gets a US record deal

CHERYL Cole can hardly hide her glee as she boards a flight home from Los Angeles after landing a £6million record deal on a flying visit.

Top brass at Universal summoned the Geordie out of the blue on Sunday after new single Promise This hit No 1 in the UK charts.

They said she could be HUGE in the States and offered to release new album Messy Little Raindrops in America next year.

The deal will also include at least two more albums.

The X Factor judge was squired around LA by dancer pal Derek Hough, 25, and she tried to keep out of sight in a car.

Last night a source said: "Cheryl got a call from some very senior people at Universal saying they wanted to see her.

"They are the kind of people who when they say, 'Jump', you ask, 'How high?'.

"So she jumped on a plane and went to LA for 36 hours. Derek was there to ferry her to and fro and give her support as these big execs can be quite scary."

Details of the contract are still being thrashed out but it is expected to be signed soon.

X Factor boss Simon Cowell, 51, helped grease the wheels, as did Black Eyed Peas pal Will.i.am who is also on Universal.

Cheryl, 27, lands back in the UK today and heads straight to rehearsals with her telly acts.

Two of her wannabes, Cher Lloyd, 17, and Katie Waissel, 24, had panicked when Cheryl left.

An insider said: "She has been a mother figure to them. They had no idea she'd be jetting off and feared she would not be back in time for rehearsals.

"But Cheryl has been in constant touch with her acts, talking them through song choices and giving them pep talks.

"She will go straight into the sound check with them and it will be business as usual."

CHERYL'S next single Everybody will feature vocals by rapper Dizzee Rascal - even though the two have never met.

Cher upset with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame bosses

Cher has taken issue with officials at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for not acknowledging the importance of Sonny & Cher.

The husband-and-wife duo have never even come close to landing a place in the revered Cleveland museum and Cher insists it's "rude" to keep them out.

In a new Vanity Fair article, the pop superstar and actress says, "Sonny was a good writer, and we started something that no one else was doing. We were weird hippies before there was a name for it -- when the Beatles were wearing sweet little haircuts and round-collared suits.

"We influenced a generation, and it's like, 'What more do you want?
