If you thought "H.A.M" sucked and thought that Watch The Throne thing wasn't happening anymore, think again.
Kanye West and Jay-Z are preparing for "Lift Off," the first single from their highly anticipated long-awaited collaborative album, and have snatched up Beyoncé and Bruno Mars for the Jeff Bhasker-produced number impacting radio and your iTunes music library sooner than you think.
Yeah, that definitely explains the random trips to Paris.

Red Café Enlists Lady Gaga for Debut Album
Red Café has spent the last few years heating up the streets with mixtape offerings, while his elusive debut studio album was put on pause several times after changing labels. But after smashing the Internet with his recent Above the Cloudz mixtape, the Bad Boy/Konvict Muzik spitter promises that his album is coming this summer – and he’s got a record that’ll make listeners go Gaga.
The Brooklyn native revealed that he’s recorded a coveted collabo with Lady Gaga for his untitled solo debut, with pop artisan RedOne handling production. “With Gaga, when she did her first album [The Fame], I was with her for her whole first album,” he told YRBMagazine.com. “This was at the time when it first happened, and Akon jumped in and we were working with RedOne.”
The duet, which was recorded two years ago, came as a result of the pair sharing studio space. “We were working in the same studio every day. She had the nighttime shift, I had the daytime,” he continued, explaining that he gleaned some advice from the eccentric pop star. “She even gave me tips. It’s great to watch her work. She’s really passionate about her stuff. The person you see now is different from that person.”
The album, formerly titled The Shakedown, is set to feature production from Ryan Leslie, Kane Beatz, Boi-1da and Reefa, who produced “Da Hottest in Da Hood.” While the LP has been waiting in the wings, Red says that the setbacks helped his artistry.
“I done change that album so many times. But I’m excited that I was able to grow without making a lot of those mistakes by putting out records that I probably wasn’t going to be proud of as a studio album,” he said. “I have some really good features on there, I’ve got some deep records. I kind of don’t want to say something that people are going to be like ‘Get outta here!’ But it’s a really, really good album. I have some great people on there. I don’t wanna give away too much, but you’re going to be surprised.”
Red Café’s debut is slated to hit stores at the end of the summer.

Amy Lee Talks Evanescence's Comeback LP
The key word for goth-pop outfit Evanescence's long-awaited comeback album, due this fall, is a bit unexpected. It's not "angsty" or "ominous" or "heavy."
"The record is fun — and that's a totally new thing for us," singer Amy Lee, 29, tells SPIN. "When I listen to our old music I see that's where I was in my life at that time. This has been a long trip and parts have been hard. But it's about not taking everything so seriously this time."
Modest Mouse and Big Boi Working Together
Here's a combination nobody expected: According to his Twitter, OutKast rapper Big Boi is in the studio, working with Portland indie big dogs Modest Mouse. Go ahead, close your eyes. Think. Imagine how a Modest Mouse song with Big Boi on it will sound. You can't. It's impossible.
Details are scarce right now, but Big Boi sent a couple of Tweets out yesterday on the subject. First: "Me and @mouche1 [OutKast producer Chris Carmouche] in the studio workin with Modest Mouse on their new album Turnt up ! Shout out to Issac and the crew!" This probably doesn't mean that the new Modest Mouse album will be called Turnt Up, but we can't rule it out.
Then: "Been camped out in the Lab with Modest Mouse all week, workin on the new mouse LP, coolest cats ever. Long Live The Funk". This is almost certainly the first time anyone has ever said "long live the funk" about Modest Mouse. We'd like to think these guys all met at last year's Pitchfork Music Festival, but then again, maybe someone handed Big Boi a copy of The Lonesome Crowded West when he was touring behind ATLiens or something.

Ja Rule Apologizes for Leading the Singing Rap Movement
Thirteen years after he broke onto the scene with his gruff, sing-song rap style on Jay-Z's 1998 hit 'Can I Get a...' and his own ubiquitous debut single 'Holla Holla' a year later, Ja Rule has finally apologized for making it "cool" for rappers to sing.
While his style may have paved the way for rival 50 Cent, who perfected the rap-singer chorus on his 2003 masterpiece 'Get Rich or Die Tryin',' Rule recently revealed to MTV that he's sorry for having lead the monotone singing charge before it was supplanted by T-Pain's equally questionable Auto-Tune takeover in 2005.
"I always admit it. I'm a shallow singer. I think that's what attracted people to what I was doing, because I made you feel like you too could do this," Ja Rule admitted. "I'm not blowing Luther Vandross notes over here! You could do what I'm doing."
The Queens MC went on to contend that his actual lack of ability opened the lane for the rest of hip-hop's questionable voices.
"I think that's what made it popular," he continued. "I think for the people, that's what made it popular, that they were able to sing along with it and they weren't intimidated by singing along to it because it was a guy that can't sing."
While most popular rappers today employ the sung hook that Rule made his signature on hits like 'I'm Real (Murder Remix)' with Jennifer Lopez, he said that he bears no ill-will towards artists like Kanye West, Drake and Diddy.
"Those are the biggest names in music," he explained, proudly. "Drake can sing, man."
"I'm sorry, by the way!" he laughed, ultimately revealing a sense of humor about his legacy in hip-hop, as he prepares to serve out a two-year prison sentence for attempted weapon possession in June. No hard feelings, pal.
