Gwen Stefani: "We are working on new material."

Singer Gwen Stefani said her band No Doubt will be working on more material but it's not a reunion as they never split.

The 41-year-old star has worked on her own solo career over the past few years but said she still has room for her band No Doubt, with a new album rumoured to be on the cards later this year.

She said to UK's Stylist magazine: 'It was never a break-up. It was always going to happen. We never stopped for all those years, but after Rock Steady [their fifth album], everybody was ready for a little time off.'

The star added that her solo career happened by chance after one single did well.

She said: 'It was more about making a dance record, I didn't even think of it as a solo opportunity. It was more of a creative project. I wasn't even going to tour but it was so amazing, how can you resist?'

Ke$ha talks Glastonbury, Britney, Lady Gaga comparisons, her next album and more

Whiskey-loving, party-starting pop-rapper Ke$ha is swapping the LA club scene this weekend for the muddy fields of Glastonbury. We caught up with the TiK ToK singer to find out what she has in store for festival goers, as well as her plans for her next album and why she’s collecting fan’s teeth.

You’re about to take the stage at Glastonbury. How are you feeling about performing at such an iconic festival?

I’m so excited about Glastonbury! It’s always epitomised success in my mind. It’s really exciting. I’ve wanted to play it for ages.

Considering it's traditionally been a rock and indie festival, do you think the fact that more dance and pop acts are performing means the genres are being taken more seriously these days?

I’d never really thought of it like that but perhaps, and I love that because writing a pop song that can be successful all over the world in countries that don’t even speak English and connect to people. I have respect for people who can write amazing pop songs in the same way that I have respect for somebody who can write incredible indie music and rock’n’roll. I think there’s a craft to writing all different kinds of music.
