Cheryl Cole rumored to work with Calvin Harris & Lana Del Ray
Queen Cheryl “Chezza” Cole, she of The Almighty Aloud and X Factor GIFs aplenty, recently put the finishing touches on her third studio album, which is due out later in 2012.
Now, the pop beans have been spilled by Sunday Mirror columnist Dean Piper, who confirmed earlier today that “We Found Love” hit-maker Calvin Harris worked with Cheryl on “a dance classic” which will likely act as the lead single from the upcoming campaign. (There’s also talk of will.i.am on the song, which is just…)
No. Let’s not get sad. If Cheryl can survive malaria, we can survive will.i.am.
Focus on Cheryl and Calvin. Dream of the possibilities. At best, we’ll get something as bright and shimmering as RiRi‘s “We Found Love” and “Where Have You Been,” Kylie Minogue‘s “In My Arms” or Sophie Ellis-Bextor/Róisín Murphy‘s “Off & On.” At worst, we’ll just get a reductive carbon copy of “We Found Love,” which would still be objectively amazing.
From what I’ve heard from my own sources, this is one of Cheryl’s biggest records yet, and it could even spell out an opportunity to dominate worldwide. 2012: Year of the Cole?

Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan: 'We've got 20 songs ready for our new album'
Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan has said the band have 20 songs lined up for their next album.
The singer reckons the band will be hitting the studio in April to lay down tracks for their first LP since 2009's 'Sounds Of The Universe'.
Gahan told Rolling Stone: We've got about 20 songs demoed and we're going to begin recording at the end of next month.
He added: "It's a very different process from what it used to be.
"You've got to put interesting people around you, you've got to work with people who are going to inspire you to take the songs you've written into a completely different direction, because there's nothing more boring than going to the studio and predictably knowing what is going to happen."
Founding member Martin Gore also recently said that the band hope to have their new album finished by the end of this year.
His VCMG side project with ex-Mode member Vince Clarke will release their debut LP 'Ssss' in the UK on March 12.

RUMOR: Madonna's "Girls Gone Wild" to premiere this Friday
Katy Perry Scores Her 7th Chart-Topper as "Part of Me" Debuts at #1
Katy Perry's "Part of Me" rockets in at the Billboard Hot 100 summit, while Adele, the late Whitney Houston, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown all make notable news in the chart's top 10.
Following her appearance at the 54th Grammy Awards on Feb. 12, Perry, who performed "Part" in a medley with her former No. 1 "E.T.," engineers just the 20th No. 1 entrance in the Hot 100's 53-year history. Lady Gaga had last stormed in at the chart's top spot almost a year ago (Feb. 26, 2011) with "Born This Way," which also benefitted from Grammys exposure last year; "Born" reached retail and radio the Friday before last year's event, at which Gaga sang it.
"Part" marks the first start at the pinnacle for a single on the storied Capitol Records label. The song is Perry's seventh career Hot 100 No. 1.
After Capitol released it to radio and retail on Feb. 13, "Part," the lead single from Perry's "Teenage Dream" deluxe edition, "The Complete Confection" (due March 27), blasts in atop the Hot 100 and Digital Songs with 411,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, marking Perry's best career sales week. On Radio Songs, "Part" launches at No. 36 with 35 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS.
"Confection" picks up where the original version of "Dream" left off: producing a Hot 100 No. 1. Dream matched Michael Jackson's Bad (1987-88) by tallying five Hot 100 leaders, the most toppers from a single album over one release in the chart's archives.

12:25 pm - 02/20/2012 Michael Jackson estate considering ‘Bad 25′ and brand new album in 2012
Weitzman says that in addition to the Cirque show, the Michael Jackson estate is contemplating several other projects. The 25th anniversary of the Bad album in 2012 may be commemorated with a special package similar to 2008′s Thriller 25, while another set of unreleased material to follow 2010′s Michael collection is also being considered. “It’s a pretty vibrant estate in the sense that it continues to generate not just catalog opportunities but plenty of other ideas,” Weitzman says.
As for the tribute concert, which is slated to feature performances by the Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, Ne-Yo and Cee Lo Green, Weitzman says the estate is “kind of watching it like everybody else. They’ve never really had any discussions with us, so we’re just watching it all go by.”

Adele: 'I am fucking off for five years'
Adele is planning a five-year break from music following on from her Grammy success on Sunday.
The 'Someone Like You' singer has revealed that she wants to take time off to focus on her relationship with new boyfriend Simon Konecki, with the idea being to return to the industry when she can write a "happy record".
Speaking to the US edition of Vogue, Adele explained: "I am fucking off for four or five years. If I am constantly working, my relationships fail."
She added: So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy. And then I don't know what I'll do. Get married. Have some kids. Plant a nice vegetable patch.
The comments come from the same interview in which Adele stated she's sick of being a "bitter witch" and will never write another album about a break-up.
Adele picked up six awards at Sunday night's Grammys, with '21' producer Paul Epworth was also named Producer Of The Year.

Beyonce is working on a new album
Told y'all this chick was planning album content while she was breastfeeding and changing diapers. Baby Blue's mom is said to be already setting up to work on a new album. And yes, B.I.C. will likely be her muse. Producer/Songwriter Ryan Tedder, who just copped an award at last night's GRAMMYS for contributing to Adele's Album of the Year, 21, revealed some generalities.
He said it goes “without saying” that Bey’s work will have some reflection on her newborn child Blue Ivy, but that “the conversations about her next album literally just happened.”
“You feed her the best that you have. She’s just a phenomenal filter… she can identify what the next thing is,” Tedder said of the “Party” girl, noting that she has “two projects happening” this year. “You just let her go.”

Speaking to Vogue, Adele said that she is "done being a bitter witch" and that she will "never write a break-up record again".
The songstress has previously hinted that she may not record her third studio album for another two to three years as she plans to "set up home".
Adele won all six of the Grammy Awards she was nominated for at last night's ceremony, including 'Record Of The Year' and 'Song Of The Year' for her hit 'Rolling In The Deep' and 'Album of the Year' for 21.

Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan to Perform Whitney Tribute at Grammys
ET breaks news that Jennifer Hudson and Chaka Khan will perform a tribute to the late Whitney Houston at tomorrow's Grammys.
The music legend died Saturday at age 48. Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California where she was a guest, Beverly Hills Police lieutenant Mark Rosen confirmed in a briefing. Police received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security, and although Beverly Hills fire and police responded minutes later, attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful.
The cause of death is unknown, and is currently under investigation. According to Rosen, there was "no obvious evidence of foul play or cause of death."
Often referred to as the "Queen of Pop" or "the Voice," Houston is a six-time Grammy winner and the most awarded female act of all time, though her career was overshadowed in the later years with her rumored drug use.

Drake and Rihanna record video for "Take Care"
Drake promised that he would deliver a video for the title track from his Take Care album, and the Young Money rapper has come through on his word. Rihanna joined him on set this week where the two filmed the anticipated music video for their collaboration track. The two stars posed for a photo with video director Yoann Lemoin.
The Jamie xx-produced "Take Care," with its pounding bass drum and sparse piano melody, tells the story of two lovers ready to leave behind their sketchy pasts in favor of a fruitful relationship together. Drake and Rih's real-life fling (one the rapper addressed on 2010's "Fireworks") only helps to enhance the song's appeal. Standing as both an endearing duet and a club banger, it's the danceable, Gil-Scott Heron-sampling house build toward the end of the song that truly makes it a standout.

Justin Bieber and Ke$ha Duet?
Justin’s next studio album will feature a track written by (and featuring) Ke$ha, HollywoodLife.com has learned exclusively!
As if you needed another reason to be excited for Justin Bieber‘s third studio album Believe, we’ve got one for you: The empress of glitter and unicorns, Ke$ha, is writing a song for Justin! A source tells HollywoodLife.com that Ke$ha ”would also be a part of the song in a duet capacity.”

Katy Perry ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’ to Drop March 27
Time to indulge in a sweet treat. Katy Perry is issuing the special edition of her double platinum and No. 1 hit yielding second album ‘Teenage Dream.’ It’s called ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’ and it’s due to land in stores on March 27. The initial run will include a limited edition, lenticular cover. That means it’ll look 3D.
What’s so special and confectionary about ‘The Complete Confection?’ Well, it’ll feature all 12 tracks from the original, six of which were No. 1 hits on Billboard’s pop chart. Perry set records by churning out No. 1 hit after No. 1 with the album. It all started with ‘California Gurls’ and continued with the title track, crackled with ‘Firework,’ went out of this world with ‘E.T.,’ and celebrated the ’80s with ‘T.G.I.F. (Last Friday Night.)’ The most recent numero uno is ‘The One That Got Away.’ Half of the album’s tracks were chart toppers. Impressive!
But there’s also new stuff. There’s three brand new songs as well as versions of ‘E.T’ featuring Kanye West, ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)’ featuring Missy Elliott, and a moving acoustic version of current single ‘The One That Got Away,’ produced by Jon Brion. None of these alternative versions have ever been available on a physical CD until now. A seven-minute Tommie Sunshine megamix featuring all six of the No. 1 hits.
“This is the complete story of ‘Teenage Dream,’” Perry said in a statement. “It was an incredible honor to tie the King of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 record, but I’m moving forward and had a few things left to get off my chest. So this is the complete special edition of my album for my fans.”
