Smirnoff Contest Verifies Madonna Will Tour in 2012
Smirnoff will help Madonna pick a dancer for her next tour in a new promotion that will try to get 10 million people in 50 countries to swap their nightlife stories via social media.
The promotion, called the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project, asks fans from around the world to share their nightlife experiences on the brand’s Facebook Page. The campaign, created by ad agency JWT, will include an event on November 12 in which 50 parties will happen simultaneously.
Madonna will be attending one of the parties where dancers will compete in front of her. The winner of that dance-off may be chosen as a dancer for Madonna’s next tour. Smirnoff will take submissions for that contest from August 17 through October 10. To enter, dancers have to submit a 60-second video of themselves. Details are available at Smirnoff.com.
Madonna has close to 6 million fans on Facebook, but aside from that, she’s kept a relatively low profile in social media. She’s not on Twitter yet and hasn’t released an album since 2008′s Hard Candy. Madonna’s manager, Guy Oseary, however, tweeted in June that Madonna was planning to start work on a new album.

Winehouse tribute happening, more on Britney's tribute.
"Britney will be at the show and we'll be paying tribute to her," VMA executive producer Amy Doyle told Billboard.com, confirming speculation that has grown since a Spears promo for the show began airing.
"She was having an incredible year and she is so beloved by the MTV audience that we started to think what could we do that would be a different experience (from years past)," said Doyle, the executive vice president of Music and Talent for MTV. "Obviously everything from her choreography to her fashion to her videos will be (covered). We said 'let's challenge ourselves to do something unique'."
In addition to the Spears tribute, VMA producers are "talking about acknowledging" Winehouse, who died July 23 in London. "We had a great history with Amy," Doyle said, mentioning a performance she did for the network's "45th at Night" show in 2007. "She was very near and dear to us."
This year's VMAs will be broadcast from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Aug. 28. The network hopes to announce a host in the near future and Doyle suggested that the show would continue the recent trend of bringing in newer talent as hosts. Chelsea Handler handled last year's telecast, Russell Brand the year before.

Nicki Minaj Breaks Female Rapper Record With "Super Bass"
In what will be sure to rattle the cages of many of her naysayers, Nicki Minaj has once again surpassed the achievements of female rappers everywhere on the Billboard Hot 100.
This time with her single "Super Bass".
This weeks #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, "Super Bass" is the highest charting single to be released by a female Rapper in the last nine years since Missy Elliot’s "Work It" reached #2 in 2002.
This comes as phenomenal news for the entertainer’s fans as the single has achieved this feat without the aid of a featured artist, highlighting Minaj’s ever growing star power.
Now certified double platinum, "Bass" has sold more units that any single released by Rap Queen Lil Kim whose feud with the Pop star was overshadowed by the success of Minaj’s #1 album ‘Pink Friday’ which has sold over 1.5 million copies since its release in November 2010.

Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green Set to Perform at Michael Jackson Tribute Concert
Finally! It's been about two weeks since it was first announced that a Michael Jackson tribute concert was in store for the people of Cardiff, Wales, but we hadn't heard who would be performing.
Until now, that is. E! News confirms that The Voice stars Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will be participating in this sure-to-be memorable event along with a couple of others...
Although it'd be super cute if Blake Shelton and Adam Levine also joined in so we'd have the whole NBC series involved, they're not—at least not yet anyway.
Two other artists that will be taking part in Michael Forever—The Tribute Concert on Oct. 8 are Leona Lewis and the band Alien Ant Farm (might sound odd at first, but remember, they did a cover of "Smooth Criminal").
No other announcements have been made, but what do you think so far? Who else would you want to see or expect to participate?

"I really like the idea of an anti-tour. The opposite of this (Aphrodite Live). I don't think I can get bigger than this production."
"It would be really great to do tiny, intimate shows; no dancing, no lights, there's nothing flash about it. (I'd be) performing songs that would never ever, ever have a hope in hell of being in a show like this."
"(It would be) only fan-known B-sides or songs that I've just done once," Minogue said.

Adam Lambert Splits With 'Idol' Manager & Signs With DMG
Adam Lambert is parting ways with 19 Entertainment, the Hollywood Reporter has learned. The "American Idol" runner-up from season 8 is signing with Direct Management Group, whose client roster includes Katy Perry, K.D. Lang and The Go-Go's.
DMG was founded in April 1985 by partners Martin Kirkup and Steven Jensen and is based in Los Angeles. In the past, the company has also worked with Miranda Cosgrove and Jamie Cullum.
Lambert, whose debut album "For Your Entertainment" has sold nearly 1 million copies, isn't the first "Idol" graduate to leave the confines of 19, the company with exclusive rights to the show's stars. The original "Idol," Kelly Clarkson, and season 3 winner Fantasia both found managers independent of the Idol machine, while Carrie Underwood opted to remain with Idol creator Simon Fuller at his company, XIX Entertainment (Fuller also manages current Idol winner Scotty McCreery and runner-up Lauren Alaina). Most recently, Chris Daughtry's manager Stirling McIlwaine left 19 to open his own firm, taking his client with him.
But while Lambert may be exiting, 19 will long reap the profits of its relationship with the singer. The company stands to pocket royalties from his five RCA Records releases, which include a live and remix album, as well as merchandise and other ancillary revenue streams. It's not clear whether he had a so-called "sunset clause" in his contract, as many Idols do, which details a specific cut-off date on continued profit sharing.
Lambert recently released new music, the song "Outlaws of Love" said to be from his highly anticipated second studio album. Lambert's "Behind the Music" special airs on VH1 this Sunday, August 8.
A representative for 19 Entertainment could not immediately be reached for comment.
