Veteran R&B Group SWV Preps New Album, New Reality Show
After a 13 year hiatus, the Sisters with Voices are back and once again ready to take the R&B world by storm. SWV has inked a new deal with Mass Appeal Entertainment and E1 (formerly Koch Records) to release their fourth studio album.
Of the R&B icons career resurrection, the group’s manager Cory Taylor tells Singersroom, “It’s truly an amazing feeling to work with such incredible talent.”
Along with the forthcoming effort and a planned tour, SWV is also in development to star in their very own documentary series that will highlight their previous success, their breakup, return to music, the rebuilding of their relationships, as well as the groups desire to inspire other women to follow their dreams.
SWV burst on the scene in 1992 with their RCA debut, ‘It’s About Time,’ which sold over three million copies and spawned a string of top-ten hits that included: "I’m So Into You," “Right Here," "Downtown," and "Weak." The group’s second release, ‘New Beginning’ also went double-platinum and included number one hits: "You’re the One" and The Neptunes’ produced track "Use Your Heart." In 1997, SWV dropped their final album ‘Release Some Tension,’ which also went platinum, logged several top-ten bangers such as "Someone" with Sean Diddy Combs, “Can We” from the Booty Call soundtrack featuring trendsetter Missy Elliot and the sensual single “Rain” with longtime collaborator Brian Morgan.
Are you excited about the new SWV album?
