Interpol, Florence and the Machine to Open for U2
Earlier this year, U2 had to postpone their North American stadium tour after Bono suffered a back injury. Interpol, who'd been booked to open some of the shows, had to scrap an entire tour that they'd built around those dates.
But now the U2 shows are back on for next year, and the band just announced the opening acts on their website. Interpol will open some of the shows, and so will the increasingly huge art-poppers Florence and the Machine. In way less exciting news, Lenny Kravitz, the Fray, and Snow Patrol will also open some of the shows.
U2 are on tour in Europe right now, with Interpol opening. And then they head Down Under with Jay-Z. We've got all U2's dates below.

JustJared has released quite a bit of information on Rihanna's upcoming album today.
From his Twitter -
From his site -
From his Twitter -
there are so many #1 singles on it, it's not even funny. All pop. Mostly island, lots of dance. No hip hop. Some reggae?
From his site -
Earlier this afternoon in the NYC office of chairman/CEO of Island Def Jam L.A. Reid, JustJared.com had the privilege and absolute pleasure of listening to Rihanna’s new album, Loud. This will be the biggest album for the Bajan beauty yet — for sure!
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
Inside is a tracklisting of the nine songs we heard. Lots of island flavor, all Rihanna all the time.
Check it out!!!
Rihanna’s LOUD Album — Exclusive JustJared.com Preview
“S&M” - It’s definitely a club banger and the naughtiest song of all! Here are some of the sample lyrics as best I heard them: “I may be bad but I’m perfectly good… There’s sex in the air. I don’t care, I love the smell of it… Sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me. I like it, come on, come on.”
“Only Girl (In The World)”: The whole room was dancing along! During the lyrics “hold me like a pillow,” L.A. hugged himself like a pillow, too. Funny moment!
“What’s My Name?” - It’s the second single off of Loud - listen to a bit of the track here! “Oh nah nah, what’s my name? …Hey boy, I really wanna see if you can go downtown with a girl like me. Oh boy, I wanna really be with you, you’re just my type… You’re so amazing, you took the time to figure me out..”
“Cheers” - The song samples Avril Lavigne’s “I’m With You” and is so unbelievably catchy! Avril’s “yeahh, yeahh, yeahhh, yeahhh” are prevalent throughout. This song will be so huge in clubs, bars, and everywhere that serves alcohol. Everybody will be raising a glass! Sample lyrics: “Turn it around with a dollar round, there’s a party at the bar everybody put your glasses up… Cheers to the freakin weekend, I drink to that. Everybody put your glasses up. Don’t let the bastards get you down… Drinks on my mind and my mind on my money.”
“California King (Bed)” - A beautiful ballad! Lyrics include: “nose to nose, palm to palm, wrist to wrist, toe to toe…Feels like more than distance between us. In this California king bed, we’re 10,000 miles apart. I’ll be California wishing on the stars, my California king.” It’s L.A.’s favorite song off the album!
“Raining Men” - The fast and uptempo song features Nicki Minaj! There isn’t much of a chorus, but the song features a variation of the popular children’s phrase “eenie meenie miney mo”.
“Who’s That Chick” - Used for a Doritos ad - read more about the song here. There are two videos for this track!
“Fading Away” - A beautiful ballad that likely references her relationship with Chris Brown. The song includes the lines, “Ready for change, baby, Open up my eyes and finally realize you’re fading away. Too late… Running your mouth. So fed up, don’t press your luck today. What’s a girl to do when she’s crying inside?”
“Man Down” - The song starts off with sirens and sounds like a metaphor for deadening a relationship. Lyrics include: “I pulled out my gun… Ra pum pum pum pum. Oh mama, mama, mama, I just shot a man down in central station. Never thought I’d do it. Whatever ever happened to me. Why did I pull the trigger. What am I gonna do?”

After a summer full of tweets and free music, Kanye West is finally giving fans what they’ve been waiting for. The platinum-selling rapper has selected an official release date for his much-anticipated new album.
Rap-Up.com has learned that Yeezy will drop his still untitled fifth effort on November 22. This is typically one of the biggest release weeks of the year and the Monday before Black Friday when U.S. shoppers flock to stores to get a head start on their holiday shopping.
The week is shaping up to be a monster with albums from Ne-Yo (Libra Scale), Flo Rida (The Only 1), Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday), Akon (Akonic), and Lloyd Banks (H.F.M. 2) currently slated for release. Check our calendar to see who else is coming this fall.
The follow-up to 2008’s 808s & Heartbreak has spawned the singles “POWER” and “Runaway,” for which ‘Ye shot a 40-minute video in Prague starring supermodel Selita Ebanks. The song will be available October 4 on iTunes.
Kanye will continue to release free music every Friday until Christmas as part of his G.O.O.D. Friday campaign. Just last week, he gifted fans with “So Appalled,” a collaboration with RZA, Jay-Z, Pusha T, Swizz Beatz, and Cyhi the Prynce.

Lil Wayne And Swizz Beatz Plan "Stan" Sequel
Eminem rejected Swizz Beatz’s sequel to ‘Stan’, but Lil Wayne will do it on a star-studded new album.
Superstar hip hop producer and Mr Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, recently revealed that he supplied beats to Eminem for a proposed sequel to his smash hit ‘Stan’
But Eminem wasn’t into the idea, so Swizz is putting it on his own album, with Lil Wayne providing the lyrics.
He says it will remain a ‘Stan’ sequel, called ‘Anne’,
Swizz said to MTV: “… taking something that people remember and putting them in that time and taking it to the next level, the way that Wayne tells Anne he’s sorry what happened to Stan. The album is crazy.”
Swizz’s forthcoming album, Haute Living, will feature a cavalcade of guests, including his wife, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, Coldplay, John Legend, Drake, Kanye West, Ludacris, LL Cool J, Method Man, Redman, Busta Rhymes, André 3000, Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Pharrell and T.I.
The album is due out later this year.

Austin Brown, 'Target Practice' -- Song Premiere
Twenty-four year-old Austin Brown describes his debut single, the Rodney Jerkins-produced 'Target Practice,' as having a "Gloria Gaynor-inspired melody, kind of disco-y, but new age." He also says the track was influenced by the Daft Punk, Ed Banger sound, "and the energy that those songs bring."
That diversity is normal for Brown, who cites influences such as the Beach Boys, Eddie Kendricks, Frankie Lymon, George Michael, Prince and many more. So, where does a 24-year-old develop that sense of music history?
"My mom really would always sit with me and show me what inspired her, so if it was watching 'That's Entertainment' and watching Cyd Charisse, Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, that's what she grew up on and that's what she showed me, early Elvis videos," Brown tells PopEater. "My mom always knew and always made sure to make it very important that I had a knowledge of where things came from. That's where my whole interest in music really started from -- my mom really schooling me on the basics."
Brown's mom is Rebbie Jackson, eldest sister of the legendary Jackson clan, so he had some of the best teachers in music. "When I was 12 years old my uncle Michael bought me a portable DVD player when they just came out and bought me 'Purple Rain,'" Brown recalls. "That's how much of a Prince fan I was. The DVD player, I thought that was cool, but when I saw 'Purple Rain' I freaked out and screamed."
As Brown steps into the spotlight, he knows he'll be closely watched by Jackson's fervent fans. "They're amazing. They're loving, heartfelt, loyal and they just support anything and everything that's his. It's one of the most amazing, loving things and he was so devoted to his fans," Brown says. "It's something I grew up seeing my whole life, so it's just how it's been."
"My uncle's the greatest to ever do it, period, and he did it for everyone who's in music," Brown adds. "He's influenced everyone, including myself, and I'm just a new artist who loves making songs and is stepping into this like anybody else."

Joe Jonas to Release Solo Album in 2011
Joe Jonas is going solo.
That's right, Jonas Brothers fans. Better get used to just one JoBro on your stage, because E! News has exclusively confirmed the middle one is stepping out on his own…
"We are planning for an early 2011 release," a rep for Hollywood Records tells us. The Jonas Brothers recently ended the North American leg of their Camp Rock 2 tour, and Joe is currently in the studio working on his first solo effort.
The insider tells us that Joe "wants a more dangerous sound," along the lines of a "sexier, Justin Timberlake" vibe. Well, if Joe can emulate J.T., than we think he'll be just fine on his own.
We're also hearing that Joe wants to redo his look as well, opting for a "T-shirt -and-leather jacket" ensemble as opposed to the suit-and-tie get-up the Jonas Brothers have been known to favor.
Earlier this year, Joe dropped some hints that he would be following in younger brother Nick's footsteps by doing a sibling-free side project, telling our Marc Malkin, "I'm writing songs right now. I'm writing a lot of music."
And before the screaming and hysterics can begin, know that this is being labeled as a side project, and the Jonas Brothers are "absolutely not" breaking up.
"The JoBros are here to stay," says the band insider.
In other words, Jonas fans, you can have your trio cake and eat the solo pieces, too.

Green Day Star Will Join ‘American Idiot’
This should boost ticket sales for the musical “American Idiot” during Broadway’s traditional September doldrums: Billie Joe Armstrong, the frontman and lead guitarist of the rock band Green Day, will step into the role of St. Jimmy in the musical for eight performances from this Tuesday through Sunday evening, the producers have announced.
A rock opera of songs by Green Day, drawn chiefly from its 2004 album titled “American Idiot,” the musical centers on a young wannabe musician named Johnny (John Gallagher Jr.) who is haunted by St. Jimmy (Tony Vincent), a spectral character who enables Johnny’s drug addiction.
Mr. Vincent had been scheduled to be out of the show from Tuesday until Oct. 12 to deal with a family matter, and word had been circulating on Broadway last week that Mr. Armstrong might assume the role. Mr. Vincent’s understudies will cover the part during the second week of his absence, as Mr. Armstrong will be leaving Broadway to join Green Day in Caracas, Venezuela, to begin a South American tour.
Mr. Armstrong, who will be making his Broadway performance debut, has long been involved in supporting and promoting the musical, and he is credited with co-writing the book with the show’s director, Michael Mayer. Among the songs that Mr. Armstrong will perform as St. Jimmy are “Know Your Enemy,” “Homecoming,” “Last Night on Earth,” and “St. Jimmy.”
The musical opened on Broadway in April to generally positive reviews, but it received relatively few Tony Award nominations — three — for the 2009-10 season. The show went on to win two Tonys, for best sets and best lighting for a musical, and lost out on best musical to “Memphis.”
Like many shows, the production has had modest-selling weeks at the box office since late summer, when attendance usually dips on Broadway. For the most recent performance week with available box office data, Sept. 14-19, the musical grossed $487,885 — only about 37 percent of the maximum possible amount that “American Idiot” could have grossed that week. Given Mr. Armstrong’s large fan following, the box office at the show’s St. James Theater seems in for a jolt.

Ne-Yo interested in Gaga collaboration
Ne-Yo says making music with Lady Gaga would be “intriguing”.
The R&B star has collaborated with some of the music industry’s most talented women, including Rihanna and Beyoncé Knowles, although his latest goal is to work with Lady Gaga.
The singer says he isn’t entirely sure what their duet would sound like though, as she is better known for dance music and he prefers hip-hop beats.
“I have no idea! That’s kind of the intriguing thing that I have no idea what that song would sound like,” he told MTV.
“Like, would I jump into her world? Would I pull her into mine?”
Ne-Yo says that whatever ends up happening, the result will be very interesting, and he even suggested a television company film the pair as they make a hit together because he thinks it would make compelling viewing.
“I don’t know, but I feel like it would be interesting to see. Maybe we should get a camera crew over when that happens,” he pondered.
Ne-Yo has been in touch with the pop star’s management, although he says it can be difficult speaking to Lady Gaga herself as she’s so busy working all the time.
“We’ve been talking to Gaga’s people about some stuff,” he explained.
“Gaga’s very difficult to get a hold of as of late, for obvious reasons. She’s very busy. We’ve been talking to her people about doing some stuff.”

Kanye West `going backwards` with new album
US rapper Kanye West is 'going backwards' with his new album.
West's upcoming record, which is due out before Christmas, will revisit the feel of his first album, The College Dropout.
Q-Tip, who worked with the 33 year-old on his new album, said the star knows what he is doing.
He told XXL Magazine: 'This album is, in a good way, going backwards. He knows exactly what he's doing - when he did 808s & Heartbreak, that was such a departure from College Dropout.'
He added: 'But now he's stepping backwards, so this album will be more of a sonic extension of College Dropout and Graduation but he is doing it with a new attitude.
'He's looking forward but reaching back, which is interesting - it's a calculated toe in yesterday's water, if that makes any sense at all.'

Lady Gaga Has a Multimillion Dollar Deal with Giorgio Armani
Expect to see Lady Gaga in a lot more Armani from here on out. She has entered into a multimillion dollar partnership with the Italian designer who provided her Grammy outfits and "Alejandro" music video costumes.
Normally, celebrities who wish to be clad in Armani choose from the designer's runway collections. The designer's sleek style isn't exactly up Gaga's alley, however. His niece, Roberta, says:
It wouldn't be possible to give Gaga a look from the collection because she wears pieces of art. It's theatrical.
The collaboration began last year when Giorgio's niece Roberta got in touch with Gaga's stylist Nicola Formichetti to ask about the singer's interest in wearing Armani for the Grammy Awards. Giorgio created three outfits for Gaga to wear, and instead of picking just one, she wore all three! The rest is history.
Armani will be designing the costumes for Lady Gaga's next tour in December. Keep an eye out for more fantastical creations then!

Lindsay Lohan Song Rumors 'Just Lies,' RedOne Says
According to the Wikipedia page for RedOne — whose credits include songs for none other than Lady Gaga — the producer is at work on a track for Lindsay Lohan, who was sent back to jail on Friday (September 24).
But the "Bad Romance" producer tells MTV News you can't believe everything you read on the Internet. It turns out RedOne has never worked with the actress, and he also wanted to clear the air about another rumored collaboration with a certain reality-TV star.
"That's not true. It's a lot of lies out there," he emphasized. "They said I worked with Lindsay. They said Heidi Montag — all of these are just lies. Same thing with Lady Gaga: [Other people] say, 'I'm collaborating with Lady Gaga,' just to get headlines and I think the same thing for me when it comes to the producer."
So how does his name get linked to celebrities like Lohan and Montag?
"I have no idea," RedOne said. "I heard somebody [said I was working with] Lindsay and I'm like, 'Not that I know,' " he explained. "The same thing with Heidi Montag. I see that everywhere. It's not true. I'm not working on her album."
The producer added that there's a reason why he's quick to shoot down the gossip. "I don't want to work with everybody," he said. "I don't believe in fast food. I believe in a body of work, like focus on something and do it good instead of doing everything and just be on the charts. [Make] classics: That's my goal."
One person that RedOne can confirm he's working with is Gaga, and he teased that her next LP will be her "freedom" album.
"I think it's more of her freedom album. It's like freedom this album ... it's her album!" he told us. "To be honest with you, I think that this album that she's making is too precious to talk about. When it comes out you'll hear and you'll make your choice. I think you're gonna love it. But I think it's too precious for me to talk about it. It's crazy."

Drake Records New Song with Rihanna
Drake and Rihanna may have gone their separate ways when it comes to love, but the pair has reunited for a new collaboration. The Young Money rapper spilled the beans about their secret duet during a recent interview.
“I just did this great song with Rihanna so I hope we get to shoot a video for that too,” he revealed to MTV News backstage at his Miami tour kick-off this week. “I’m really excited about that song.”
Drake had reportedly written for Rihanna in the past, but the material did not make her album. He was careful not to give away too much about their latest collabo, which will likely appear on Rihanna’s new album Loud, due November 16. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to talk about that actually.”
The young stars were rumored to have dated in the past, but their brief relationship left Drizzy brokenhearted. “I was a pawn,” he told The New York Times. “You know what she was doing to me? She was doing exactly what I’ve done to so many women throughout my life, which is show them quality time, then disappear. I was like, ‘Wow, this feels terrible.’”
When asked earlier this year who she would like to work with, RiRi said Drake was at the top of her list. “He’s really, really talented, and I think he’s one of the illest lyricists out there right now, so I would love to work with him,” she told E!’s Ben Lyons.
Loud has already produced a hit with lead single “Only Girl (In the World),” which jumped 75-3 on this week’s Billboard Hot 100, selling 249,000 downloads in its first week.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's Lesser Spelled Namesake Dies
Before "Sweet Home Alabama," a no-nonsense high school gym teacher in Florida gave Lynyrd Skynyrd its edge.
Leonard Skinner, whose rule against boys in his class having long hair stuck in the band members' craw and ultimately inspired their singular name, died in his sleep Monday at a nursing home in Jacksonville, according to his daughter. He was 77 and had Alzheimer's disease.
In an interview with the Florida Times-Union last year, the retired teacher and basketball coach admitted to sending Gary Rossington and a few shaggy-headed others to the principal's office because they were violating the school's no-long-hair policy, but he said the rumor that he got the guys kicked out of school was totally false.
While not a big fan himself—"What the hell kind of noise are you listening to?" he asked his Skynyrd-spinning son once—Skinner ultimately made friends with a few of the band members and, according to his family, was always gracious to the Lynyrd Skynyrd fans who wanted to meet the band's namesake.

Mariah's Merry Christmas II You In-Stores November 2
As autumn leaves begin to fall, international superstar Mariah Carey puts the finishing touches on MERRY CHRISTMAS II YOU, her second career album of holiday tunes, arriving November 2nd on the Island Def Jam Music Group. Highlighting the long-awaited new album is a brand new recording of Mariah's all-time standard, "All I Want For Christmas Is You."
In addition to traditional yuletide fare - "The First Noel," "Little Drummer Boy," "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "O Come All Ye Faithful" and more - MERRY CHRISTMAS II YOU also contains four original songs composed by Mariah, including the new single, "Oh Santa," and many more surprises for the fans. Producers on the new album include American Idol's Randy Jackson, multi-platinum hit-making producer Jermaine Dupri, James Poyser (acclaimed producer for Aretha Franklin, The Roots, Lauryn Hill and more), and five-time Oscar nominee and Grammy/Tony/Emmy award winning composer Marc Shaiman.
Since it was first released, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," written by Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff, has become one of the essential musical hallmarks of the holiday season, and continues to set sales records each year. The song hit #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Recurrents chart every year from 2005 to 2008. After ringtones began to be charted in 2006, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" hit #1 for the next three consecutive holiday seasons. It became the first seasonal Mastertone to be certified RIAA gold (2006) and RIAA platinum (2007), and is ranked as the top-selling seasonal ringtone of all-time."All I Want For Christmas is You" was the featured single from MERRY CHRISTMAS, which has sold over 12 million to date.
MERRY CHRISTMAS II YOU is Mariah Carey's 13th studio album, and follows up her worldwide multi-million-selling Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel (released September 2009), her multi-platinum E=MC? (2008), and worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005). The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan's biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured "We Belong Together" (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and "Don't Forget About Us," Mariah's 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. They tied one of the most enduring chart records in Billboard Hot 100 history, Elvis Presley's 17 #1's.
Three years later, Mariah surpassed Elvis when "Touch My Body" (from E=MC?) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit. "Touch My Body" spent two weeks at the top, Mariah's 78th and 79th cumulative career weeks at #1, which tied Elvis' long-standing all-time high of 79 weeks at #1, as calculated by Billboard. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles' all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC? brought total sales of Mariah's albums, singles and videos to more than 200 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

Robyn: 'I will never release three albums again'
Robyn has admitted that releasing three albums in one year has been a big "gamble".
The Swedish chart-topper has already released 'Body Talk Pt 1' and 'Body Talk Pt 2' this year, with a third instalment expected in November or December.
But the singer defended her decision to release a trilogy of LPs by limiting each album to eight tracks.
"When you do 16 or 13 songs in one go, you kind of empty yourself, and it takes a while to fill back up and have new things to talk about, so I think it's good for everyone," she told BBC Newsbeat. "It was just something I felt like I needed to do. I just never thought about selling records or not, making this decision. I just did it for myself."
Robyn confirmed that she will not bring out a trio of albums again, adding that the move felt like the "jump start" she needed coming five years after her breakthrough self-titled album.

Taylor Swift Announces Deluxe Version Of Speak Now
When Taylor Swift releases Speak Now on October 25, fans will have a couple of options. An exclusive Target version of the album will feature three new tracks, three remixes and 30 minutes of additional video content. That album also features Swift in a red gown, versus the purple gown she wears on the other cover.
"I'm so excited about the deluxe edition of Speak Now that will be at Target!" Taylor Swift said. "I'm all about being able to give the fans special extras whenever I can, so I love that this version has video footage and even some additional songs."
Swift is following in the footsteps of the Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera, Prince and John Legend, who have made similar deals with the retailer. "Target is very excited to partner with Taylor Swift on her new, and much anticipated, album Speak Now. Taylor is a dynamic artist that has developed a strong fanbase that spans across all ages and geographies, and we are proud to be the only retailer to carry this exclusive new content," said Mark Schindele, Target's senior vice president of merchandising. "Knowing how important Taylor's fans are to her, we are pleased to be able to deliver three new songs, plus exclusive remixed tracks and video footage, at a great price."
Swift has already released the hit single "Mine" and previewed the new song "Innocent" at the VMAs on Sunday. "Innocent," a ballad about someone who has lost their way, appears to be about Kanye West in regards to last year's VMA stage-crash.
"For me, I write everything that I live, so you got to give yourself a little bit of time to live a lot of things so you can write about a lot of things, and my only option is to write about what I've been through and what I've lived, so thankfully, in the past two years, I've experienced a lot of things that I've been dying to write about and a lot of things that I wanted to say in the moment that I didn't," she said about the October release.

Lady Gaga Beats Oasis To Set New Guinness World Record
Lady Gaga has overtaken Oasis to become the artist to enjoy the most weeks in the UK chart.
The singer's debut album 'The Fame' has now spent 154 weeks in the top-75.
She has also been named the most searched for female on the internet in the new edition of the Guinness World Records.
Meanwhile, the late Michael Jackson is the most search for male on the internet, while Madonna is the biggest-selling female act of the 21st century in the UK.
Husband and wife Jay-Z and Beyonce have been named the year's biggest 'Power Couple', earning around $122 million through June 2009.
Pixie Lott has recorded the biggest chart jump, with her song 'Boys And Girls' climbing to number one from number 72 in one week.
Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of this year's records book, said: "Almost two years ago, Lady Gaga and Pixie Lott were not even around so it's amazing they have broken these records.
"Every year, so many new music records are broken."
The latest edition of Guinness World Records 2011 is released today (September 16).

Lady GaGa: 'New album is rock crossover'
Lady GaGa hopes her new album will be a rock crossover record that will "reach the masses".
The singer, who recently debuted a song on tour called 'You and I' from the widely-anticipated LP, said the track doesn't reflect the sound of the whole record, but hopes it will have widespread appeal.
"I wrote the song just to write a beautiful song and I intend to put it on the new album, yes," GaGa told RWD.
"But it's not totally indicative of the new album sound; it's just a really big rock and roll hit. I do have these hopes that it could be a great crossover record, so I'm going to put my producer's hat on and get it to a place where I feel like it could reach the masses.
"It's a beautiful, beautiful lyric and melody."
GaGa also discussed her longevity in the music industry, claiming her 'Monster Ball' tour has become a "religion" for her fans.
"I think that I'm, in the best kind of way, as irrelevant as I am relevant and it's the timing of when the music came and when the show came. Also, the thing is, the show has become a religion for me and my fans.
"In that way it's about so much more than the music, the clothes or me. It's about the togetherness of music and culture."
GaGa's new album, Born This Way, is slated for release next year.

Justin Bieber 3-D film gets Feb. 11, 2011, release date
Good news, tweens: Justin Bieber's film debut has an official release date.
The currently untitled film will hit theaters on Feb. 11, 2011, Paramount announced on Wednesday.
Better yet, the singer and his lustrous dirty-blond locks are getting the 3-D treatment. The movie has been described as an "8 Mile"-like story of the Canadian idol's rise to stardom, although presumably without all the grit and sex.
It will also include concert footage from the singer's appearances in Nashville and Madison Square Garden this summer, and cameos from fellow teen idol Miley Cyrus and R&B star Usher.
Davis Guggenheim was rumored to be attached to the movie, but the Oscar-winning director dropped out days after a Deadline New York report stated his involvement. He has been replaced by Jon Chu, who directed the last two installments in the "Step Up" series.
This won't be Bieber's first acting gig. He's guest starring as a troubled teen on a multi-episode arc of "CSI" that kicks off with the show's Sept. 23 season premiere.

Beyonce ready to “party” on new album
Beyonce’s upcoming fourth studio album seems to be coming along even faster than anybody realized, with producer Sean Garrett dishing some brand new details about the disc to Music Mix at last weekends VMAs. According to Garrett, Bey will be focused on making “party music” on the new LP, which isn’t really much of a surprise since the diva is primarily known for her upbeat, booty shaking club tracks.
“I am going in the studio with Beyoncé this week to work on her next record,” Garrett told the Music Mix at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards. “I think we are doing a lot of up-tempo records for this one. She’s in such a good place right now in life that she is interested in making party music, definitely.”
Sean has worked with Bey on a number of tracks before, including “Check On It”, my personal favorite “Upgrade U”, “Get Me Bodied”, the horrendous “Ring the Alarm”, “Diva” and the classy “Video Phone”.
Sticking primarily to trashy club tracks is a good move for Bey. During her last album, I Am Sasha Fierce, they tried to push the acoustic ballad “If I Were a Boy” as the album’s main single, but despite heavy promotion the song couldn’t reach the top of the charts, while “Single Ladies” unexpectedly blew up due to it’s gimmicky Soulja Boy-style dance and fun beat. Plus, Bey really amped up her sex appeal over the last two years, delivering more vulgar performances than ever before, so mindless, raunchy uptempo tracks will work well for her on the new album, instead of trying to pass off those ghostwritten ballads as her own works of genius.

MJ Cemetery Charging 3 Bucks to Leave Gifts
It's gonna cost Michael Jackson fans if they want to continue leaving gifts inside the King of Pop's mausoleum -- because TMZ has learned the cemetery is now charging a special $3 MJ delivery fee.
0914_mj_mausoleum_EX_Inset
According to sources at the infamous burial space, Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA has decided to take down the stage where fans were previously allowed to place gifts -- and are now enacting a new gifting policy ... so long as fans pay the price and abide by the rules.
Effective immediately, cemetery staff will take gifts for MJ inside the mausoleum -- where fans are still forbidden from setting foot -- for a $3 fee ... oh yeah, as long as those gifts are flowers.
Anything else -- teddy bears, posters, picture frames, candles -- will get dumped ... and if they run out of space inside, we're told excess gifts will have to brave the elements outside.

Lady Gaga Signs Beauty Deal
Lady Gaga, perhaps the most sought after and compelling name in show business these days, has signed a long-term licensing deal with Coty Inc. to create fragrances under her name.
Stephen Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing in the Coty Beauty division, told WWD exclusively the agreement was hammered out last week and the first Lady Gaga women’s scent is expected to be launched in spring 2012.
Mormoris sees the significance of the Lady Gaga deal in cultural terms with her appeal and huge following embodying all age groups worldwide. Describing her as a “phenomenon,” Mormoris clearly sees the singer as “a fascinating cultural force” who is capable of electrifying the market.
Further details of the deal and the fragrance were unavailable at press time.
