From ‘Animal’ to ‘Cannibal’: Ke$ha names re-release

Ke$ha has had to cancel a recent concert in Mexico due to commitments surround the re-release of her chart-topping debut album ‘Animal‘. While explaining the reason for the cancelled concert, Ke$ha revealed that her re-release will bear the awesome and strangely appropriate title of ‘Cannibal‘.

The album is currently scheduled for release in mid-November, which means that the lead single can’t be too far off. Production on the disc is being handled by the same team behind ‘Animal’ — Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco and DJ Ammo — as well as hip-hop hitmaker Bangladesh. Between 5-8 new songs are expected to appear on ‘Cannibal’.

Since its release in January, ‘Animal‘ has topped the Billboard charts, been certified Platinum and sold over 2 million copies worldwide. It’s also spawned four consecutive top ten hits, all of which have been certified Platinum or multi-Platinum.

Justin Bieber Is In Talks To Sing ‘America The Beautiful’ At Next Year’s WrestleMania In Atlanta!

If the stars align, Justin Bieber might be tapped to sing ‘America The Beautiful’ at WrestleMania 27 on April 3, 2011 in Atlanta…which would put him in a league of performers like Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles!

Justin Bieber might not want to get in the ring with spandex wearing hunks like Randy Orton, The Miz and John Cena, but the 16-year old star’s singing pipes might get him in their grasps regardless. WrestleMania — the annual Super Bowl of wrestling — returns for its 27th incarnation in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, GA in 2011 and a consistent fixture is to start off the festivities with a rousing rendition of America The Beautiful!

An insider tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that WWE is trying to get younger viewers and that they’re out to get the Biebs on board.

“It is so perfect! To have Justin perform in front of 70,000 plus people would just be amazing! It is so perfect”, our source says. “It’s still a work in progress but it would be a lot of fun.”

We totally agree, and if Justin wanted to add to his fun night, he could easily ask his friend Kim Kardashian how to handle things backstage with the fellow wrestlers — she was the official host of WrestleMania 24 back in 2008!

Miley Cyrus 'Who Owns My Heart' Video Blasted By Parents Television Council

Miley Cyrus' new single, "Who Owns My Heart," may question who the pop star's latest boy toy is but the video certainly declares that the teen singer is embracing a sexier persona. However, some believe the 17-year-old singer's racy image is damaging to her legions of young fans.

In the clip, a scantily-clad Cyrus gets dolled up in her room and shows a lot of leg while grooving in the backseat of a car on her way to a rager at a mansion. The teen starlet then spends most of the video dancing in tiny shorts, a revealing halter, big hair and heels and partying until the wee hours.

Tim Winter, who serves as president of the Parents Television Council, told TMZ that the "Hannah Montana" star's sexed-up clip relays the wrong message to her teen following.

"It is unfortunate that she would participate in such a sexualized video like this one," Winter said. "It sends messages to her fanbase that are diametrically opposed to everything she has done up to this point. Miley built her fame and fortune entirely on the backs of young girls, and it saddens us that she seems so eager to distance herself from that fanbase so rapidly."

This isn't the first time the Disney star has faced controversy in her attempts to break away from her squeaky-clean, teen idol status. Her pole-dancing move at the at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards grabbed headlines and her latest LP, Can't Be Tamed, features a much more vampy persona than her "Hannah Montana" alter ego.

"I'm a completely different person [than when I released 2008's Breakout]. I'm much more confident. You know, I've always been a confident person, but I was going through a lot then," Cyrus told MTV News in June. "There's so many people in your life telling you who you should and shouldn't be," Cyrus said. "And that's what Tamed [is] about. It's about being who you are to the fullest. And now I know who that is."

The group has also recently slammed the Britney/Brittany "Glee" episode.

Trey Songz Selects Third Singles

While he’s still heating up the charts with his singles “Bottoms Up” and “Can’t Be Friends,” Trey Songz has mapped out his next moves.

The ladies’ man tells Rap-Up.com that the Drake-assisted “Unusual” and steamy “Love Faces” will be released simultaneously as the third singles from his fourth album Passion, Pain & Pleasure. “We’ll be working those at the same time,” he reveals.

He also hints at a surprise collaboration in the works. “I got a big surprise coming up for a record I’m about to do that should be a great collaborative effort. I can’t say who all is gonna be on it, but it’s gonna be a great record.”

As for his “Bottoms Up” collaborator Nicki Minaj, Trey hopes to work with her again, possibly for her debut Pink Friday. “I would love to. I think she’s as talented as they come and to work with her again would be a delight,” he says. “I know she’s still working on her album and I’ve extended my hand, and if there’s any place she feels me to be fit, I’ll be there.”

In the meantime, Trey is gearing up to hit the road with Usher on his “OMG Tour” in November and has recorded a duet for Monica’s single “Here I Am.”

Rihanna Calls Drake The 'Only Person' For 'What's My Name' Remix

Rihanna and Drake's collaboration on the remix of "What's My Name" wasn't one of those studies in industry politics where labels wrangle two stars for the sake of an on-trend hit. Instead, Rihanna personally invited Drake to jump on the track, which is slated to appear as a bonus cut on her upcoming release, Loud.

"She played the record to Drake backstage somewhere to try to get him on a verse," Stargate producer Tor Erik Hermansen, who has worked with the singer on her forthcoming fifth LP, told Billboard magazine. "She's calling me up saying, 'Where are the files?' That's one thing you don't hear often from artists on her level."

The "Only Girl (In the World)" singer explained that she and Drizzy had been attempting to team up for a while and that she wanted Drake's signature swagger for the track.

"Drake is the hottest rapper out right now and we've always been trying to work together," she said. "He's the only person I thought could really understand the melody of the song, and the minute he heard it he said, 'I know exactly what I'm going to do. I love it.' And he did it like three days later."

Both stars have been fairly stingy with details but Rihanna has described the track as "young" and "playful." The now flame-haired songstress has also hinted that she and Drake may take their collaboration to the screen and shoot a video.

As far as the sonic vibe for the rest of Loud, Rihanna has dished that the album will "exude the energy and space I'm in right now. That's what I always try and do with my music. Right now in my life I feel very loud and in charge of my life and I can't wait for everyone to hear the new album. It has such a variety of sounds, but it all makes sense for this album."

Britney Spears album update

If you follow me on Twitter then you’d already know this stuff from yesterday, but now that I have proof that the news is real I thought I’d go ahead and post it anyway.

Britney Spears’ managers spoke to the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, most likely to discuss the success of her recent record-breaking Glee episode, but they also revealed some details about her forthcoming album (due “early next year”) and addressed on her noticeable absence from the spotlight.
“It’s not a comeback”, insists Larry Rudolph, the manager who discovered Speares as a teen and who still guides her career. “She’s an iconic artist, She’s like Madonna, she’s here to stay”.

To be fair Spears hasn’t exactly been hiding out, her Circus tour was the 5th highest grossing of 09′. But compared with the days when she shocked the world by canoodling with pythons and Madonna on MTV, she’s been keeping a low profile. In fact her appearance on Glee could be her biggest national exposure since the breakdown in 08′. Rudolph explains her relative absence from the pop culture conversation: “She just wanted to spend a year getting back to basics, being a mom. But now she’s moving into a new album cycle”.

Adam Leber then goes on to discuss Britney’s next album, promising an all new sound from the Holy Spearit.

That new album arriving as soon as early next year, will introduce a fresh, “progressive” sound from Spears, according to the stars manager Adam Leber. “It’ll be a departure from what you’ve heard,” he promises.

For the most part, Britney has kept a similar sound throughout her career, only ever drastically diverting from her successful formula for 2007′s Blackout. Going by Adam’s comments, and taking into account the A-list array of producers like William Orbit that Britney has been working with, and it seems that we could be getting an all new sound for 2011.

Meanwhile TMZ delivered a short-and-sweet exclusive on Britney this week, revealing that she’s wrapped up three new songs for her album and “she loves ‘em”.

The anticipation is killing me.
