Stevie Nicks Glastonbury rumours grow

Rumours that Stevie Nicks will play this year's Glastonbury have continued to grow.

A report by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton earlier this week (April 6) suggested that the former Fleetwood Mac singer had signed up to play the Worthy Farm event, which is due to take place on June 24 -26.

Now a post on unofficial fan blog Nickslive.blogspot.com has claimed that Nicks confirmed the slot while speaking to fan Matt Denison backstage at the The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Canadian library worker Denison was invited onto the US chat show to discuss his collection of Nicks memorabilia after winning a competition to find the singer's biggest fan.

Although there's been no confirmation from Nicks about an appearance at Glastonbury, the singer is scheduled to perform in the UK during the weekend of the festival.

She is due to appear at London's Hard Rock Calling festival on June 26 alongside Rod Stewart.

Rihanna to Perform on 'American Idol' Again

Rihanna is scheduled to continue her string of televised guest appearances with a performance on 'American Idol' next week.

The red-coiffed 'S&M' singer recently performed her song 'California King Bed' with Jennifer Nettles, of country band Sugerland, at the American Country Music Awards, a rare feat for an R&B star. Now, she's returning to the stage with 'Idol' to rock out on an as-yet-unspecified song. Also performing on the show -- airing Thursday, April 14 -- will be former 'Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson and country star Jason Aldean, singing their hit 'Don't You Wanna Stay.'

Past performers this year have included Diddy-Dirty Money, the Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson. Rihanna last appeared on the popular singing competition show a year ago, performing her single 'Rockstar 101.' She has followed up that performance with appearances on the U.K. hit talent search 'The X Factor,' as well as halftime at the NBA All-Star Game earlier this year.

Despite rumors of poor ticket sales, Rihanna is also preparing to kick off her Loud tour on June 4 in Baltimore with Cee Lo Green and J. Cole.

Selena Gomez 'Whiplash' authored by Britney Spears

Selena Gomez is one lucky gal! It is being reported that Britney Spears actually co-wrote a song for the Disney star. While Ke$ha is writing songs for Britney (Till the World Ends), Brit is writing songs for Selena! The world is a happy place!

According to Ace Showbiz, the song, entitled Whiplash, will be on Gomez's upcoming album, due out in June. It is assumed that the track will be a pop/dance mesh, something that Gomez has touched on with her hit Naturally. Spears has done some writing in the past, but she didn't write any of the tracks on her latest album, Femme Fatale.

Usually when a huge star like Britney writes a song, you can expect it to be really good. It's a little surprising that Brit lent her talents to writing this song, but didn't write any songs for herself (on Femme Fatale). Sometimes things work out that way in the music biz.

Selena Gomez is really talented so her album will be very successful. Hopefully Whiplash makes the final album cut so that the public can hear it!

American Idol's Pia Toscano Scores a Record Deal

Well that was fast!

Less than 24 hours after her shocking early American Idol exit, season 10 finalist Pia Toscano has scored a record deal, UsMagazine.com has exclusively confirmed.

The 22-year-old New Yorker -- booted from the Fox series Thursday -- will record her debut album under the Interscope Records imprint, which is chaired by Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine.

"Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP," a source familiar with the contract talks tells Us. "Starting [Thursday] night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it."

As for the contract, the insider says, "Papers are being finalized. It's basically a done deal. She's signing. They rushed everything but she's so excited."

Though Idol fans are still coming to terms with her dismissal, Toscano -- who will hit the road this summer for the Idols LIVE! concert tour -- is taking her bad news in stride.

"You don't know for sure why things happen, but you know, it did!" she told reporters during a Friday conference call. "It was my time to go on the show and I'm excited to see what my future holds."
