Disco singer Loleatta Holloway dies of heart failure
Disco singer Loleatta Holloway, known for the 1980 hit "Love Sensation," has died.
Her manager, Ron Richardson, says Holloway died of heart failure Monday night at a suburban Chicago hospital. She was 64.
Holloway recorded several disco singles, including "Hit and Run" and "Runaway." But she's best known for "Love Sensation."
Her vocals were sampled by Black Box for the 1989 hit "Ride on Time" and by Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch for the song "Good Vibrations" in 1991.
Holloway was born in Chicago in 1946. She began singing gospel with the Holloway Community Singers and later with The Caravans. Her solo career began in the 1970s.
Richardson said funeral arrangements were pending, but that her family planned to hold a public memorial.

Ke$ha Postpones Japanese Tour
News of Ke$ha postponing her upcoming Japanese tour doesn't come as much of a surprise. Following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that ravaged the country and left the looming threat of a nuclear crisis, travel in and out of Japan is far from easy. But the news is probably still a disappointment for fans looking forward to an escape from the tragedy that has struck the country.
Ke$ha is one of many western musical acts who have been forced to cancel or postpone tour dates in Japan following the earthquake. Her Japanese promoter, Creativeman Productions, who was responsible for pulling the plug, have also had to cancel their annual spring R&B and hip-hop festival Springgrove with headliners Nelly and Flo Rida, as well as Punkspring, their annual punk and hardcore fest that was set to feature Good Charlotte and Hoobastank.
In a statement released through Creative Productions, Ke$ha expressed her concern and pledged to help in any way she could.
"My heart is with Japan right now through this disaster and these hardships. I genuinely don't think right now would be appropriate timing for me to perform in Japan given the content and the spirit of my show, which is all about feeling exuberant, rowdy, and wild. I plan to bring my party there and to that part of the world when we are all ready to dance and Get $leazy together again. In the meantime I am going to do everything I can to help relief efforts and I encourage everyone in the world to do the same."
Ke$ha and Creativeman Productions plan on rescheduling the tour once the country gets back on its feet. If you'd like to help the Japan earthquake relief efforts, you can donate through the Red Cross.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna’s ‘Fly’ Video to Take Off Memorial Day Weekend
There’s been a flight delay. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna fans will have to wait a little longer to see the visuals for the ladies’ collaboration “Fly.” The video won’t make its debut until Memory Day weekend. Nicki explains why.
Since both women dropped their albums in November, the Young Money rapper wants to wait and let Rihanna continue to shine before premiering the “Fly” video in late May.
“I’m gonna hold off on the Rihanna video and the Rihanna single for a little bit longer,” she told MTV News. “‘Cause we both kind of dropped at the same time. So she has a lot of [songs] in rotation and I want to let her stuff have a moment and do its thing, dominate radio. [Instead], I wanted to come out with something more fun.”
When the Sanaa Hamri-directed clip does arrive, she promises big things. “The Rihanna video is a freakin’ epic movie and you know it’s been done for like a month, two months now—very long time,” she added. “Look for it around Memorial Day weekend.”
In the meantime, the head Barb will release the video for “Super Bass,” a single off the deluxe edition of Pink Friday. “I’m taking it back to a few things that I’ve done, it’s a lot more fun,” shared Nicki. “It will be my most fun video and my most carefree video, lots of eye candy and lots of beefcakes.”

Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow to duet on his upcoming album
Matthew Morrison and Gwyneth Paltrow have already proven they have great onscreen chemistry as lovestruck teachers Will Schuester and Holly Holliday on Glee. (The actress pops up again on the April 19 episode.)
Now the pair are hoping that energy translates to the recording studio. EW has learned exclusively that Morrison and the Country Strong star will duet on his self-titled adult-contemporary album, scheduled to drop this May 10. Morrison asked Paltrow to sing on the album during her work on Glee, but admits the conversation was slightly awkward.
“The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” says the actor. “I’m so not that guy.” Luckily, choosing the song for their collaboration was much easier. The pair will be covering a tune very familiar to Morrison and his Glee fans: the classic “Over the Rainbow.” The actor auditioned for Glee with the song and performed it on the series’ season 1 finale. “People kind of know me for that song now,” says Morrison. “I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it. It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful.”

Ne-Yo: 'Rihanna has come a long way'
Ne-Yo has praised Rihanna, stating that her vocals have come a long way since she first started out.
The 'Beautiful Monster' star, who has worked with Rihanna on a number of tracks including 'Take A Bow' and 'Russian Roulette', was asked about the use of studio tricks on Rihanna's voice in the studio.
"I feel like Rihanna has definitely come a long way from when I first met her," he told That Grape Juice.
"She has grown as an artist and she has grown into a beautiful young woman. She is a very talented artist."
The singer-songwriter then went on to explain that there is "room for improvement" in everyone, including himself.
"I feel like every song that she does and every album that she does she's going to keep getting better and better," he said. "She is still very much a student of this art and that's how I know she's going to be around for a while."
Ne-Yo previously described the use of auto-tune as "cheating".

Lady Gaga Wraps Up Born This Way, Plans Tour
Over the weekend, Lady Gaga tweeted that her May release, Born This Way, was nearly complete. "In Nebraska, finishing up record today," she wrote. "I'm so proud of the album: I keep dancing+drinking: metal/techno rock journey of a woman on the run."
Now, with eight weeks left until it officially drops, Gaga's creative director, Laurieann Gibson, revealed that this album will have the Little Monsters going, well, gaga.
"This new album is spectacular," Gibson told MTV News. "And I got to tell you, you got to really stand by and take notice, 'cause the album is excellent. It's of such excellence that I think that everyone's going to be really impressed and affected."
The first single from the album, the title track, has sat at the top of the charts for weeks, and as Gaga readies the release of a second single, the RedOne-produced "Judas," Gibson said it's just the beginning.
"The records are so visual and large and the concept of birthing has so many levels to it and the dance is never limited, that you're just gonna keep seeing an extension of this story," she explained. "And hopefully [we] get humanity to a place where we can effect change."
With the album basically done, plans for the tour are under way. "We did a theater in an arena and it worked [for the Monster Ball Tour]. ... How do we take it to the next level?" Gibson teased of Gaga's next outing.
