Good Charlotte announce plans to go on hiatus
Good Charlotte have announced that they will be going on hiatus for a lengthy spell.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, the Maryland pop punkers, who released a 'Greatest Hits' album earlier this year, have said that they plan to "step away from the grind" for a while.
Guitarist Benji Madden said:
We're stepping away from the grind of making records and touring for a minute, just to have fun and be creative like we were when we were 15.
Madden, along with his twin brother Joel, has also revealed that they will release a new mixtape 'Before The Fame: The Madden Brothers' in the US on October 1, which will see them working with a host of all new artists.
Joel Madden said of the project:
We're already having a blast in our studio with all these new artists making music just for fun. And the mix tape's free, they're going to get it for free, there's no quota we're trying to fill, there's no machine we're trying to fuel, we just want to make music with new artists and god bless EMI, they let us do what we want.
Good Charlotte played V Festival in August, in what will have been their last UK shows for some time.
