Gaga’s role in Cher’s comeback role has been vague. Originally, Cher claimed Gaga wrote the track as a “gift,” but more recently, the singer and Oscar-winning actress tweeted on August 11: “Hey @ladygaga sittn w @Kathygriffin she wants 2 no if u did the vocal yet ? Btw, duet w @Ladygaga is SO great. Know u guys'll like it. It's called #thegreatestthing. Can u handle it???”Cher, a few days later, typed that the full album should come out toward the end of the year: “Ok Lovelies bout Me'n GaGa ! think cd's out Xmas & LOVE "GREATEST THING " Think probably b 1st single ! Think GAGA's doin some duets 2” Written by Gaga and produced by RedOne, “The Greatest Thing” is expected to be the first single off Cher’s 26th album, which has been in the works for about the past year. As Cher was promoting her film Burlesque in August 2010, she mentioned that she was working with Diane Warren, who also contributed to songs to the movie. At the time, she said: “I just got some of the songs and I’m just learning [them] so I’m kind of at that beginning stage where you’re taking baby steps.”So, with a Gaga song, as well as a few by Diane Warren, what could Cher’s comeback sound like? She claims that it won’t sound like her last release: “It really won’t be ‘Believe’-ish. It will be more…I don’t know how to say it. I can’t put a genre to it. It’s a little bit more real instruments, like guitars and stuff like that.” In addition, she tweeted that it will sound: “WAY DANCE.” Can you see Cher doing a dance album? While the singer dabbled in disco in the late ‘70s, most prominently with track “Hell on Wheels” featured in movie Roller Boogie, does the present dance-pop sound of Ke$ha, Gaga, and their contemporaries fit her? Gaga recorded a demo of "The Greatest Thing," which has since made its way to YouTube. Listen to the rough version below:
Lady Gaga has confirmed to Hindustan Times that she will be performing in Indian cities as part of her Born this Way world tour. “I’ve wanted to come to India for so long, and I was so disappointed that I couldn’t come because I have to get back to America to shoot my next video. I am coming to perform in India this October and next year too,” she told Hindustan Times from Australia. SOURCE
