Rihanna Sells Over 300,000 Tickets To UK Loud Tour, Adds 10th O2 Arena Date

Rihanna is now a record breaking female solo artist with an incredible 10th headline date at London’s O2 Arena.

Rihanna is now, officially, the artist with the longest run of headline dates at London’s O2 Arena and thankfully, for us at least, who have had to update Rihanna’s tour schedule 10 times now, Rih-Rih’s tenth headline slot will be the last announced on her UK Loud Tour. Rihanna’s tenth O2 Arena date is set for December 20 and goes on sale this Friday.

Having just been nominated for the Best International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards, we simply can’t get enough of Rihanna in the UK. You’d call the consistent adding of dates to her UK tour popular demand but this is about the ninth time we’ve announced new dates so we don’t think popular demand really comes close to what Rihanna is experiencing in the UK right now. The UK leg of her Loud Tour has been extended again and again, with huge venues, her singles are climbing and staying at the top of the charts and her new album is currently sitting pretty at the top of the pile.

After the smash hit success of her Rated R arena tour last year, Rihanna has announced that she is due to return to the UK in October 2011 to perform a series of dates on her Loud Tour. This will be the first chance UK audiences will get to see her performing her brand new mega-hit singles ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ and ‘What’s My Name’ from her new album ‘Loud’.

Rihanna’s Loud Tour UK dates are as follows…

Wednesday October 5: London O2 Arena [SOLD OUT]

Alicia Keys to Commemorate Debut Album with 10th Anniversary Edition

Alicia Keys is set to commemorate the release of her multi-platinum debut songs in A minor with a special 10th Anniversary Deluxe and Collector’s edition. To celebrate the occasion, she will also give an intimate performance at New York City’s Beacon Theatre.

The Deluxe two-disc and Collector’s Edition three-disc sets, due June 28, will boast special packaging and a beefed up booklet featuring new liner notes. Unheard tunes that didn’t make the original tracklisting will be featured on the new releases, including “A Woman’s Worth (Remix)” featuring Nas, the mixtape version of “Juiciest,” the previously unreleased “Typewriter,” and more.

Additionally, the Collector’s Edition will feature a documentary created for the commemorative release. The film explores the making of the album as well as interviews with Keys and those who worked on the Grammy-winning record.

“It’s incredibly surreal for me to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of songs in A minor,” stated Alicia. “Looking back on the journey, I’m truly moved by my fans and friends who’ve been with me and have supported me throughout my career. This album is possibly the most precious to me, as your first album only happens once, and so songs in A minor will always hold a special place in my life that’s filled with amazing memories.”

The New York native will also grace the stage at the Beacon Theatre on June 30 for the one-of-a-kind “Piano & I: A One Night Only Event with Alicia Keys,” where she will play songs from the album as well as cuts from her oeuvre.

“I’m so proud that the songs are still being enjoyed around the world, and I’m crazy excited to share, through the 10th Anniversary Edition, songs never heard before, and even more of my debut album with you,” she said.

In addition, Keys will perform at the BET Awards on June 26 and an hour-long special on her career will air on the network in late June.

Stevie Nicks Glastonbury rumours grow

Rumours that Stevie Nicks will play this year's Glastonbury have continued to grow.

A report by celebrity blogger Perez Hilton earlier this week (April 6) suggested that the former Fleetwood Mac singer had signed up to play the Worthy Farm event, which is due to take place on June 24 -26.

Now a post on unofficial fan blog Nickslive.blogspot.com has claimed that Nicks confirmed the slot while speaking to fan Matt Denison backstage at the The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Canadian library worker Denison was invited onto the US chat show to discuss his collection of Nicks memorabilia after winning a competition to find the singer's biggest fan.

Although there's been no confirmation from Nicks about an appearance at Glastonbury, the singer is scheduled to perform in the UK during the weekend of the festival.

She is due to appear at London's Hard Rock Calling festival on June 26 alongside Rod Stewart.

Rihanna to Perform on 'American Idol' Again

Rihanna is scheduled to continue her string of televised guest appearances with a performance on 'American Idol' next week.

The red-coiffed 'S&M' singer recently performed her song 'California King Bed' with Jennifer Nettles, of country band Sugerland, at the American Country Music Awards, a rare feat for an R&B star. Now, she's returning to the stage with 'Idol' to rock out on an as-yet-unspecified song. Also performing on the show -- airing Thursday, April 14 -- will be former 'Idol' winner Kelly Clarkson and country star Jason Aldean, singing their hit 'Don't You Wanna Stay.'

Past performers this year have included Diddy-Dirty Money, the Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson. Rihanna last appeared on the popular singing competition show a year ago, performing her single 'Rockstar 101.' She has followed up that performance with appearances on the U.K. hit talent search 'The X Factor,' as well as halftime at the NBA All-Star Game earlier this year.

Despite rumors of poor ticket sales, Rihanna is also preparing to kick off her Loud tour on June 4 in Baltimore with Cee Lo Green and J. Cole.
